Long time lurker with a few posts.

Recently developed a click/clunk while maxing out the steering wheel left and right.

    Video: https://youtu.be/4-B1K7o788w

My truck is a 2020 off road with 16k miles. Only mods are RCI Skidplates.

I checked all the suspension nuts and bolts, dropped my skids, and everything is tight.

It is definitely a steering noise but I am not sure what. I will be taking it to the dealer soon since I am out of ideas.

If anyone has any ideas I am all ears!

Pretty sure it’s not good for the steering parts to be cranking them full turn left and right while sitting still on dry pavement. Also I have RCI full skids and depending on how you put them on you could be be binding up. Need to loosen them up and retighten them to specs while making sure they don’t bind up.

I have double (re-torqued) and tripled (removed the skid and re-torqued) checked the skids and they are torqued correctly.

I don’t think they are binding as I drove 10k+ with them on and I just recently developed this noise. The dealer ship preformed and oil change without my consent while having my head unit replaced. A few days later I noticed the nose.

I originally found the noise doing a three point turn in my drive way (reversing out of the garage).

I checked my friends truck and hers didn’t make the noise?? Kind of curious honestly.

As bulalo above said it’s normal if you checked for binding and nothing obvious is going on it’s good. I occasionally get a pop while doing a full turn backing out of my driveway my steering is at full at the time.

That’s reassuring. I have just never heard it before and it started after the dealership messed with my truck.

    Thank you.

Dealership replaced me right LCA assembly and it’s smooth and quiet again.

    Thanks for the replies!
