Lomax Hard Tri Fold Tonneau

Are most of you guys with the Lomax cover installing the brackets on the roof to hold the cover when all panels are folded?

 

A lot more space than I'd expect. Still on the fence about buying one. Seems like my bed is shallow enough.

 

I did not get that model. Only 2 of my 3 sections fold. If I need more space I can remove the entire cover in a few minutes or use my other truck.

To all who have this cover, I have a tie down bracket attached to the front and side rails on my 3rd gen truck. Is there enough clearance for the Lomax bracket? I need about 8" in from the bulkhead.

 

i don't think that's going to work with the Lomax side rails that sits on top of the bed side caps, and the Lomax rails slide/bolt into the side rails. I can get you pics later if no one else does.

On the verge of buying a Lomax tri-fold, and have a few questions for those of you who have them:

Do you need put the tailgate down to open the cover? (Not sure if all covers work like this, or just the ones I've encountered)

I know the entire thing is easy to remove (big selling point!) - when you remove it, can it fit in the bed? (I have a 6' bed, for whatever that's worth) I need to stand my bikes up in the bed sometimes, and want to be able to do so easily.

Does anyone have the new Stance version, and what do you think of it?

Pics of Matte vs Urethane on TRD Off-Roads? Trying to imagine which one will look better. Generally inclined toward a matte look, but wondering if the Urethane would match well.

I will let other answer most of these questions for you since I know we emailed and I am technically biased since I sell them... But if you look through these pages in this thread you will find a ton of really great pics of both finishes. Honestly better than any stock photos we have...lol.

 

Yes you have to open tailgate to open the cover, the cover section closet to tailgate latches down and needs to be released. I haven’t had to remove cover yet to store in bed. I have the urethane cover it is a deep black and it is about as shiny as if you cleaned your truck and put a protective coating of armor all or similar product on the black fender flares or bumper. I would get it again. Should be more forgiving hiding scuffs or scratches than a matte finish.

I highly recommend @truckalter. I received a great price on a Lomax Hard Tri-fold and a AMP Bed Extender. They processed my order right away, and the Lomax was delivered 2 days after I placed the order . Installation was very easy, and took me about an hour for the Lomax. Really like the AMP Bed Extender. I can keep the cover on and my hiking, backpacking and camping gear - and grocery bags don't slide forward to the front of the bed. The AMP does require (6) 9/64" holes drilled into the bed, but pivots just fine around the Lomax rails, and is very easy to remove when not needed.

Has the tonneau cover held up well after multiple automatic car washes?

Does the wax that they sometime apply when you do an under body wash cause any issues?
