The 4 cylinder seems to shift great.

Like it or not, what you think about the transmission, is an opinion. Some say it’s great, some say it sucks ass. No one is right to the other person. I, personally, wouldn’t buy a 3rd gen after a test drive years ago.

I bet the Toyota power train engineers turn to these butt engineering posts whenever they are having a tough day and just need a chuckle (or when they need new hires/fresh ideas) "Gear Hunting", "Pedal Commander", "ECT", "S Mode", "Tune" (mine is better than yours):boink: Can't wait until a 4 cyl, different tranny and a Turbo (third variable/data point) are up for dissection.

So does my 3.5. I don't understand what all the gripes are about.

My 2018 Taco hunted for gears, my 2020 does not....luck of the draw I suspect.

Just curious, was your the hunting for gears in your 18 why you went to a 20?

It was most of the reason. I also didn't like maintaining the Midnight Black Metallic color. Loved it when clean. When a used Quicksand came available, I jumped on it. No quirky gear hunting in this one. Love the color of my Taco now and it drives sweet.
