I ended up going with a generic 1” x 1” weather strip from Ace Hardware and have had no issues.

I have HMO bed bars. The bottom plate goes between the bed rails and the topper rails so I bought thicker to form around the plates. Obviously the ticker it is it will fill in any potential gaps better.

Yeah, like everyone has said, you should be fine with pretty much any generic version. I'm planning on replacing mine soon with something a little thicker also because it seems to tear pretty easily.

I just had the idea of attaching patches to the side of my softopper. Has anyone here done that and reccomend against it?

Thank you for all the replies! I’ll probably go with a cheap 1”x3/8” or something similar. From what I’ve seen, you can get the 3/8 in a denser material (neoprene or something) and I hope that will help with the tearing in the future.

I would maybe do adhesive hook and loop over the softopper patch on the sides but that would be where I'd stop

    Check build thread!
The bestop version, but yeah. Love it so far. Freaks me out when the canvas moves a little on the highway but that’s my only “complaint”. Love how it looks. Really appreciate the rear windows on the sides, will make a world of difference while camping.

Got a Fas-Top Solo Topper last week. So far it is great, as time goes on I will be added updates about what I think since it seems like no one on here has their topper.
Also the side panels look much better now, when I took the photos the corner straps weren't pulled tight enough.

That looks like they licensed (or stole) the design from softopper. The frame is exactly the same.

The frame is pretty close to the same, the mounting point is a bit different but I don't represent the company so I don't know the behind the scenes story. And the frame is the only part that is like the softopper, everything else is different.
The main reason I picked them is because the material is made to handle extreme cold and uses velcro instead of snaps.

Also some nice features are that the frame and the rails are full anodized black. The end rails are both heavy duty that lock in like a tonneau cover. The bed rail mounts are powder coated steel and much lower profile than standard tonneau mounts everyone uses.

Looks like they went with metal hardware where the Softopper has plastic for strap connection. There's also G-Hook option where the ST uses plastic buckles. Liking that storage bag, too. Was looking to do something similar for my sleeping setup.

edit: This is pretty cool. The topper stows under a tonneau cover. Given that I mostly use the Softopper for sleeping, and my biggest complaint is the lack of rear/side visibility, being able to keep the stuff in the bed dry/clean while retaining rear visibility seems like a nice perk. https://www.fas-top.com/Fas-Top-Traveler-Tonneau-Soft-Truck-Topper-p/ftt02.htm

That is a pretty sweet setup, but at $600 more than I paid for my softopper.

Yeah, I wouldn't consider it for that and one other reason: Flipped down and with the cover up (so I can sleep under the stars) the topper would sit right in my headspace. Also, it looks like it replaces the OEM bedrails?

i just ordered a replacement back window for mine, Does anyone want my cracked one? was thinking about cutting out the "window" and making a mesh one but if someone else wants it and pays for shipping (or located in CO) just let me know.

Honestly it was a fun little project. By no means perfect but with pvc and imagination the sky is your limit. Having TC stiffeners made mounting it really easy. Idk what I would have had to come up with without them.

Alittle late to the party but i picked up this grey Soft topper that was 9 months old for $300 locally, wanted tan or black but grey doesn't look bad on a silver truck imo. Super easy single person setup very durable materiel and frame, can't be happier glade i was persuaded this over a fiberglass canopy. I just put Scotch guard Water and Sun shield on it in prep for winter, anyone have any feedback on it?
