    Hey guys do most of you use the 85/140 diff oil after installing the ECGS bushing? What about Lucas 80/90? I live in Maine so temps regularly dip below zero. Thanks

    Stick with the FSM recommendations. For a colder environment go with the lighter weight, the front ring gear isn’t moving until you’re in 4wd anyhow.

    I also agree stick to the factory weight.
    I used 85w-140, I don’t recommend it unless you are ok with the possibility of some diff oil puking out the breather in cold weather:eek:

    And Yes, before you ask, Mine did this more than once. The remedy is to let it puke and then leave it alone. :thumbsup:

    Good to know guys. Thanks. Am I reading the manual right that the transfer case only takes one quart?

    I don’t remember exactly. I go by the old school way. Pour it in until it starts to come out the fill hole.

    Yes, technically you will be 1/4-1/2” over full. But I haven’t found any issues doing it this way.

    Yeah, but the differentials use GL-5 oil.
    The transfer case can use GL-4 or 5.
    Buy #5 and call it a day:thumbsup:

    I confused the transfer case with the tranny oil. Tranny takes just under two quarts.
