Mine took the next size up. Believe it’s the “micro”. The SIM card came with adapters. YMMV

AT&T store manager got the SIM card setup (also fixed a big error the online rep created). After giving him the Joying IMEI he said it wouldn’t work on AT&T’s network. We’ll see.

Joying and T-Mobile have band 2 & 5 in common. My streaming reception/data rate is good. I run a lot of FLAC files @ 44kHz.
    AT&T also uses band 2 and 5.

not a dumb question, we have different models. i have the 11.6 with 8GB RAM, pretty sure scootter82 has the same in his jeep. rnish has the 9” with volume knob. main differences are screen size, RAM/ROM, and CPU.

My main concern is that android does an excellent job making hardware obsolete after a year or two, expecting even a new top shelf Samsung tablet be compatible with the latest android OS for more then a few years is optimistic. The idea of changing my head unit as part of upgrading my phone is not too appealing. AS such the main feature of any HU is an aux input.

I'm running Android 12. If I remember it’s the machines with the 7862’s (processor) that can go to Android 12.

Its the future. I down loaded the latest patches into the VW. Still got to take it in for the physical recall.

Ok fellas, I'm on the wiring stage here and need some help. 2012 Entune+JBL setup.

    1. Is there any way to keep my shark fin antenna (blue connector from stock end)? I'm not sure what these adapter types are to do an adequate search...
    2. Where do I plug in the "Can In" and "IR" connections?
    3. Are the 4G connectors needed for CarPlay and misc apps?

    2. Where do I plug in the "Can In" and "IR" connections? I’m non JBL. So what I did may not apply.

    3. Are the 4G connectors needed for CarPlay and misc apps? 4G is for cell data service. WiFi and BlueTooth have their own antenna(s).

    Thanks.

Looks like I have everything connected and working (backup camera, unit turns on/off with the key, sound works) with the exception of the steering wheel controls.

I have tried both types of connections... With CAN OUT + KEY, the display text will rapidly flash between the yellow, "Please select a learning function" and the red, "Please hold the button on the steering wheel into the learning state". With CAN OUT + CAN IN, only the red text appears. In both cases, pressing a button on the steering wheel and display has no effect.

The following link says that if I have a CANBUS decoder, CAN OUT + CAN IN is the solution. No sure if that applies to me, but it didn't seem to have an effect anyway.
    https://www.joyingauto.com/blog/pos...i-stereo-and-keep-the-steering-wheel-control/

I e-mailed the customer support folks but they have only sent me a link to a youtube video which does not help.

    Any ideas?

Did you ever update to Android 12? Or have you done a full reboot of the system and noticed any resolution change? Font size increase on app menu?

If you had Sirius radio and the shark fin antenna, then you also have GPS built in, even if you don't have a Navi unit.

This connector let's you use your shark fin antenna GPS and toss away the garbage GPS unit that comes with the unit.

Are you sure about this? I am not trying to be argumentative but the research I did showed that the Factory GPS Antenna was under the dash mounted to a large plate. I would love to be wrong.

Yo, sorry, been busy with work travel and just now seeing this. Haven’t updated yet due to time limitations and the focus recently has been getting the amps sorted out.

Speaking of which - Has anybody played around with the JHU’s DSP? I’ve got a 3-way component speaker with passive crossovers and 75W x 4-channel Class AB amp. In bridged mod, the 75x4 amp would send waaaay too much RMS to the crossovers. 75W per crossover is half of what they can take. Neither option is great but I could definitely live with 75W per crossover.

In messing around with the JHU, there may be a solution…

Ideally the front RCA outs would carry a bandpassed signal to amp channels 1/2 and provide 75W per woofer. The rear RCA outs would carry a high pass signal to amp channels 3/4, sending 75W to each passive mid+tweeter crossover.

Looking at the JHU EQ there might be a way to do this but for whatever reason I can only change the front left/right and not the rear.

    Suggestions??

Sorry can’t help. I’m using the Joying amp output. Equalizer works for me. Got the SW running. Turned the loudness off. It seems to like the SW xover at ~ 125-160 Hz.

I've been going back and forth on the different Rockville amp/sub combos like you've got. How do you like it? I don't want to rattle my fillings, but just want to give a little more thump.

Two thumbs up. Very happy. The whole system sounds really good. The Joying HU sounds good. Note: I believe some of the improvement in sound quality is because I’m now streaming FLAC (lossless) files from Amazon music. Had to turn the tweeters turned down. Bass volume (thump) is also not a problem.

As small as the SW amp is, I had to pull passenger seat to situate the amp under the seat. Adding the SW dedicated power take’s some of the pressure off the accessories fuse. I ran a 8 gauge line from the battery with a 30 amp fuse (the amp is fused by the mfg for 20 amps). Also ran a 6 gauge ground wire. Overkill admittedly. I could have just grounded to the frame but in the past I’ve had issues with ground loops. Regardless this gives me room to add more stuff, nothing planned for sure but 8 gauge can take 40 - 50 amps.

Had to drill a hole through the firewall for the wires.

We may have similar goals. I’ll be running a full CT Sounds system and have been impressed with the build quality and very happy with their support. Emailed them yesterday about the active/passive scenario I described above, they already wrote back and confirmed that setup will work. Every email over the last year has been responded to within 24hrs. So now it’s on to Joying support for DSP assistance…

Anywho… I don’t want to rattle anything either. The music I listen to needs more precision and punch than teeth rattling SPLs (I don’t have any fillings so I can’t relate). First to go in is a CT-700.1D amp and Tropo 8” dual 4-Ohm sub. That amp will send ~380-400W at 2-Ohm, perfect for that sub. Short term the sub will go in a decent $40 box I found on Amazon. It’s a wedge shape and on its side fits snuggly between the rear access cab “seats”. Big cat approves.

Wiring is a little different than rnish. I’ll have 4ga from the battery to a (big) KnuKoncepts distribution block. 4ga to the subwoofer amp and eventually 4ga to the 75x4 amp for component main speakers. I could run 8ga from the distribution block to the amps but I have plenty of quality OFC 4ga at my disposal and both amps accept up to 4ga.

:DI also have no fillings. We are uncommon in what we have in common. Looks like a sweet set up all around, but I am really trying to keep that back seat storage. I have a semi permanent platform in the backseat for my dog and the sub aimed right @ my pup also cant be good. I think the underseat is the way to go for my application, plus no separate amp (I know the audiophiles are cringing).

I've already replaced all of my door speakers, and deadening the doors and back wall. It is already sounding much better, and I'm still running the entune. Once i get the joying the additional wattage per channel will be enough to bring my new speakers to life. I'll be ordering the Joying 9" (i like the knob) in the next week or two so I've been doing recon on this thread. I have all of the additional stuff in my Amazon cart (for the reverse camera integration and USB ports for appleplay. I hate that the Joyong doesn't offer satellite radio:angrygirl:but I'll live.
