Do the rear tires spin more easily if you full throttle launch in 1st gear? In theory loosing contact patch size is the only downside of going pizza cutter, but you're probably never going to hybroplane so that's good

Contact patch doesn't depend on tire width (except for extreme cases, not this one). It is a function of pressure and tire construction.

The weight of vehicle / contact patch = pressure

The pressure you control by inflating the tire and the weight of vehicle is how much crap you have in it. Contact patch remains constant

makes sense, that's why people air down to get more contact patch.

I guess I'll rephrase my original question to if going pizza cutter dramatically affect the grip, acceleration, braking performance

The FJ Steel Wheels are HEAVY compared to an alloy wheel. I ran them for a winter on a set of P-rated snow tires and the difference in weight between those and the TRD Sport alloy wheels was absolutely significant. I enjoyed the look but they were a pain to deal with during the switchover in the winter between the lugs, center caps and weight. If switching isn't an issue for you, that's a non-issue in terms of lugs / caps.

I havn't been able to find weights for the new Nokian Outpost AT but the tire it replaced was 47lbs in a LT285 70 17. I would guess that the new tires will be comparable
