Alright folks, for anybody who bought a brand new truck you probably remember the day when you drew first blood on that beauty. From scuffed up rims, to your taco no longer being rubber side down, and everything in between, let's hear your stories and see some photos.

OP - Looks like the pain is too great for some of us to talk about. First scratch was son not lifting one of the mountain bikes high enough over the tail gate. Studded pedals will leave a mark. And he did the same thing the next day. Truck was a couple months old at the time. I'm.....over it now...

Mountain bike pedals are REALLY good at scratching/denting trucks, shins, dogs... basically anything they can touch.

I picked up my truck 2 weeks ago and so far it's pristine - no first blood as of yet. I know it's coming and just wanted to hear some stories about other peoples experiences.

    Thanks for sharing!

I don’t have a pic of it but I bought used sliders from a guy and tossed those bitches in the bed, drove all the way home and then realized one of the brackets was etching little notches in the top of my tailgate the whole drive.

I don’t plan on fixing it because every time I see those scratches I remember how excited I was to get those sliders lol

As I said earlier, my new Tacoma is currently unblooded, but I definitely remember when my Colorado got its first blood. I was parking at a construction site and was approaching a foundation, which had a lot of rebar protruding from the poured concrete. Most of the rebar had orange hats on, but there was one which didn't..... That was the one that punched right through my front bumper - ouch.

I ran over a small feral pig on hansen road...does that count?

I've washed the blood off since then.

I was at a flea market and hear over the loudspeaker "will the owner of an orange Toyota Tacoma please return to your vehicle".
    Oh, s***...

I parked in the back of nowhere and a (good, honest) guy wanted to park out there too because his truck was so big and awkward. He had a ramp type thing on the back of his (Clydesdale) F-250 and didn't see my (Shetland pony) Tacoma behind him. I had to ask "dude, how can you miss a bright orange truck, clear out here?"

He was a good guy and made it right, just the bumper center cover fortunately.

A couple months after buying my ‘21, I stopped for gas and used the windshield squidgy to clean windshield as we’ve all done 1000’s of times. Didn’t notice that the rubber part apparently had something very abrasive embedded in it and as I dragged it across my windshield I heard the gritty/grind noise and immediately saw the horizontal scratches across my brand new tacomas windshield!! They were deep enough to feel with my fingernail.

I’ve gotten over it, that is until the light catches the scratches just right as they’re in my direct line of sight. I always run my finger across rubber part of squidgy now before using.

Not a whole lot of blood, but was definitely 1st blood.

Driving to work. Passing underpass on highway. Pigeon flew down from it's nest, flew really low, me going 70(ish) and SMACK! Bounced off my forward windshield. No damage. Don't know where the body went...

    Fast forward a few days.

Driving home. 70(ish). Highway was clear and free. Crow's sitting in emergency lane doing whatever.
Decided to fly right into my lane. SMACK! Forward grill, upper middle portion has a small crease now.
Don't know where body went either...

Was going to replace the grill crease, but meh. Shit happens.

Had my truck about a week and a little girl (probably around 7 or 8) in the car parked next to mine opened her door and hit the truck so hard it shook (I was sitting inside waiting on the Wife). I got out and didn't see any damage due to the darkness and the poor girl was crying so bad. It wasn't until the next day that i saw the little ding in the back door. Figured it had to happen eventually. Stung a little but the first one is always the hardest.

These stories are convincing me to go out and buy a crap ton of bubble wrap. Nothing's happening to my Tacoma!

The bubble wrap will scratch the paint :boink:-- seriously these trucks seem to have the most fragile paint I have ever seen , I swear a falling leaf will scratch it.
