Washer and a couple nuts is all you need for a homemade riv-nut tool. I wouldn't waste the money.

 

I have that, but i have messed up a few aluminum rivnuts and wanted the tool. I may try again

 

Once you own a proper rivnut tool you’ll never go back. It’s so damn nice.

First up was fixing the door lock actuator. It was a bit of a process but I'm glad I didn't have to spend $400 for the OEM replacement. Happy to have 4 doors lock and unlock as intended:



80 mil Kilmat on the inside of the door and 50 mil Kilmat behind the door cards. Haven't test drove it yet. I'm guessing it'll be quieter until I drop the headliner.



Definitely recommend getting at least 4 of these ahead of time. I think I broke every single one.

We need to get you on the Surefire / Modlite flashlight program. Won't be able to club someone to death with them, but will at least be able to see what you're doing.

Agreed, always thought it was crazy spending that kind of money on flashlights/weaponlights. Now I have at least a dozen.

I've been looking at seat covers also. Wanna get some that work with cooling seat add on.

 

Starting to consolidate and organize:

 

It has been raining so much and so hard for the last 18 hours or so that there was two damp spots in the headliner this afternoon.

First one right by the driver's A pillar:



Second spot was the passenger side B pillar:



Driver's side was just a little damp. The passenger side was a little worse but neither were dripping.

Got home and got to work. I let the truck dry off in the garage as best as it was able to. Used towels and the leaf blower so that water wouldn't pool or pour into the factory holes. Started removing the bolts (one at a time) and blew them out with compressed air. Cleaned up the bolts once I got them out, put more silicone on and a dab in the holes before tightening the bolts.

Using a hair dryer, I dried the headliner and tested that it was dry by using a shop towel and using a good bit of pressure until it was bone dry.

Finished up by going around the entirety of the headliner and made sure there were no other damp spots. There were none.

A bit irritating, but, considering the fact that I've had this roof rack installed for 8 years and this is the first time there's been moisture isn't bad. The silicone I used back them might be reaching end of life. Luckily, this week will still be pretty warm so everything should dry and cure well.

When time allows, I will probably do the same thing to the remaining bolts just to be safe.

Got lucky.

 

The $5 pencil pouches from Walmart about that size are amazing as well. The Magpul Daka pouches work great if you have the cash and need them to be water resistant.

Always a great feeling of having your stuff organized.
