Fwiw, counting mine, I have a bin w 3 accumulators in it. When we get to 20 I hunt down a miller.

also, we found out today we have a very tall black walnut tree. Which could be worth some dough if we got it milled. We will see if the city lets us.

I got one I'll sell you, but I don't want it back. I just did the $1 coupler mod, was going to face my accumulator down in the mill just to see what the internals looked like, but if it can go to a better use excellent, especially since I've had five years to do it if I really wanted to.

The same coupler (more than $1) shown in the 1st Post. It only works on some 2nd Gens that have a bunch of clutch line slack for a certain accumulator setup.

    See the vid here:

For those who have had the stock accumulator machined, how 'deep' do you need to mill to 'connect the dots'?

As noted earlier in the thread, the depth equaling the port diameter is more than sufficient for the dremel mod or milling.

FWIW I crafted up my own solution to the accumulator, the ADD, Accumulator Delete Disk. Not pleased with putting in a hard line (warranty), nor did I like the idea of hacking my accumulator, so I replaced the back with a machined disk that does effectively the same thing.

I have had mine on my truck now for a few weeks and it works great.

I did make a few more that I put up for sale elsewhere but I don't think I can sell directly on here, not sure how that works

    So. Many. Stickers.
Hardline won't affect anything warranty related. In fact, when I had my clutch tsb done, the tech didn't even notice that my accumulator wasn't there.

And now that I am a tech..... Lol

Just don't spam. Moderators are serious about keeping the forums friendly. But you'll get there in no time.

Here's a question/request: tell us more about these disks of yours....

Wow this seems way easier to do in bulk for people. Dunno why none of us have been smart enough to think of making a new disc instead lol

Happy to answer what I can about the disks.

They are hand machined on my vintage Craftsman (Atlas) lathe that I think was made around 1947. They are machined from brass, couldn't really tell you the material composition as I picked up some round stock from a recycler a while ago and it happened to be the right size. I was going to use aluminum but I had this and wasn't using it for much of anything.

The disk itself just takes up the space of the plate and spacer. I figured the extra space would defeat the "accumulator" part and in reality the point in the middle was because I can use a round cutting tool and its just as easy to leave as it is to machine off. The point might have some effect but I don't think so, IMO just freeing up the space around the return port offers all the benefits.

What is the original plate made out of? Does it expand as you push the clutch in? And is that why the brass piece works?
