    Yeah.
Yeah, it's probably worth it and time to do that basic maintenance. What I worry about is running low on oil at the top where the foam rings lube the stanchions. There's not a lot in there, so it can get used up over time. Then your dust wipers wear out, dirt gets in, and you can tear up the stanchions or bushings. Best to refresh all that and avoid costlier repairs. I've serviced a RockShox fork in the past, and a Float rear shock. Both were relatively easy, provided you have the right oils and tools (I jump at any opportunity to buy tools and still save money, lol). I think removing the shock from the frame took longer than rebuilding it.

For the fork, lowers service every 500 miles, full rebuild every 1k. The push shock only gets a rebuild every year.
I go by mileage cause it’s easier to keep track of.
I abuse my stuff, but with these intervals my suspension has been flawless.
Wipe the stanchions before each ride, don’t force water into the seals, regular service and they’re good to go.

Suspension rebuild tools are next on my list. Just had the LBS do a lowers and seal job on my Pike. Ready to get it back on and see how it feels.

@abacall whats the Push service cost on their shocks? I can assume shipping to them is on the customer, and the return shipping is worked into their service cost. I’ve got around a year of use on mine so it couldn’t hurt.

Thanks to all for the replies on the shock service! Appreciate it.

Went out for a ride this morning. Trying to get as ready as I can for a 12 hour race in two weeks. So……58 miles and 6300’ climbing up to Sandia Crest, which is 10,630’ or so. Beautiful views when you get to the top. Took my Cutthroat for the ride, and had pavement, chunky ass dirt, and threw in some single track on the way home. Fun ride today…..I need nap though! Ha.

$160, plus shipping one way like you said.
Love the shock enough that I’ll only buy a frame they tuned for.
Luckily they have all my short list bikes.

Well I’ll never impress anybody with the welding, but it looks like it’s going to be strong enough.

Nothing serious, probably broken hand. Could have been a whole lot worse where I fell.

Aww man, hope it's ez recovery.

One of buddies just had a major OTB incident on a step up. We knew he was doomed as soon as he went off the jump and started running. When we got down there found him knocked out struggling to breath, fortunately he snapped outa it after like 10 secs. Scary as all shit though.. Definitely reminded me to pack the full face for sending.

Oww. Just threw out my back looking at it.

Lol. Kidding. Looks dope. I dig the color scheme, and what looks like a splash of toyota heritage colors?

It really depends. My hardtail with Ground Controls have a bit over 800mi on them, with some of those being pavement, but they've lasted really well in my opinion. F vs R varies, compounds and manufacturers vary - I've had some rears "go" in just over 200-250mi for Maxxis MaxTerra compounds.

    Good looking bars!

I'm confused about two things in that picture:

    1. What's with the cable routing in the rear brake looped around the bars? Is this a DJ thing?
    2. Isn't the front brake on a DJ bike like reflectors, they are required for sale of the bike, but you're supposed to take it off?

    1. You wrap the cable around for bar spins, unless you have one of them “do-hickies” on the steer tube that allow you to spin them without ever worrying about cables.
    2. Most DJ brakes are sold without front brakes. I think it depends on model you buy. If the manufacture wants to save money not supplying a front brake they will, plus it allows them to brag about lower weight.
