Installed the Fitcamx camera this weekend!

I searched and searched for a clean camera install and came across the Fitcamx. It's the cleanest install I've found for the Tacoma. Installed in literally seconds. Price is good and camera quality is great! Excellent choice for us with SR trims that can plug into the back of the mirror also. Overall extremely happy with it! If I didn't just buy and install the Garmin Mini, I would have opted for this. Very clean.

Can you edit the "CarDV" part or the format for the time/date? Also, I know the cover is fixed in place, but can you maneuver the camera lens up and down?

 

I haven't played with the settings yet but I know there is stuff you can adjust using the app. All I did was turn the sound off so nobody will hear me rocking out before I crash lol. The camera angle is fixed unfortunately. I would have pointed it up slightly but I'll take this view for how clean the install is.

I was able to download the app, open it and turn off the mic, and download a sample video just to make sure it worked without issues for what it's worth. Even if the app craps out, you still have the micro sd card on the side of the camera you can pull.

 

I have the Fitcam in our 2019 Toyota Highlander...which is our main vehicle. I'm very happy with it and so far excellent performance.

 

True...just remember to format the SD card once in a while. I don't see any reason as to why the app would fail....just need to have Wi-Fi to use it.
