My wife never notices anything I do to the truck unless I tell her or she sees the package arrive (which is usually where I get busted). That, however, I think even she would notice.

    Oh look, another mod....
$15k for a crawler bed? She may not notice it on the truck for a few days, but she'll sure notice the money missing from the checking.

Quick question, do you have a couch or dog house you can sleep in for...ever? If you do, I say you buy this thing. It looks awesome.

Ok....it's gonna take some planning on your behalf. First line up someone to hit the rear of the truck hard enough to need a new bed. Second, drop ship the new bed to the body shop. Third, tell the wife you had options when putting the new bed on....and you went that way, like you should of from the factory. She won't know any different.

I want this one from Bowen... Obviously I need a bigger truck first. The Mortells gave me a good tour of theirs at the NW Overland Rally this year. SOOOO much storage.

Saw that one you linked to in passing, up on Bethel Ridge this year. Nate something or other. Seems most people on here know of him, lol. I live under a rock apparently.

I mean it's cool and all, but at that price I'd build something myself. Even if it took me a year, it still wouldn't take much longer than it likely takes them to deliver. Plus it'd be way more satisfying on top of the $$$$ saved.

If ya don't have the fab skills, it's a great opportunity to learn. People are too quick to throw money at things these days.

99.99% of people don't have the fab skills to make something remotely as quality as Bowen's, or other professionals', products. I know some folks that do pretty damn good fab work, and it's taken YEARS to get to where they are being non-professionals at the trade. But the equipment alone to properly bend the metal and such would probably cost more than the bed itself, in the case of one of these fancy beds. This isn't something a backyard pipe bender can manage unless they want to just go for trial and error and waste 3x the metal.

If you're already halfway there, sure. But saying building a bed like this is a great opportunity to learn to fab, that's a bit of a stretch, lol.

Heres my crafty way. I mention it, wait a bit, then mention it again. Then wait, then mention it again. You guys get my drift. To the point where she's like....
'' Get it it for christ sake, Im tired of hearing about it ". Perfectly executed, works every time.
