Tell me about this soft crate. Is this combined with a platform for the foot well?

If I had to routinely take my 2 kids and dog places in my double-cab Tacoma, I would have traded for a Tundra. Luckily, we have another SUV for that. My opinion, the truck is too small to be doing that on a regular basis. People and dogs are going to be uncomfortable - especially the kids as they get older and get taller. Do yourself a favor now and consider a full size truck.

You never mentioned anything about a DIY dog barrier, so how would we know? I parallel park in front of my house and picking up the kids everyday. No issues with them opening doors, they know to go out the curb side.

I just have a seat cover in the back for the dog. No issue.

    Activate the kid locks....problem solved.

Sound like you need to work on some discipline with both the dog and kid.

Do you have any actual insight as to OP's original question? "anybody running a 40 percent seat delete with a large dog, and is it enough?"

Why has this turned into a thread about how to parent and how to train your dog? It’s a question about seats.

F33A601D-E63F-42D4-A658-E9FF965BE298.jpg for reference, my guy stands about 27" at the shoulder. prolly bigger than your dog, but removing one side or other of the back seat does make a lot of room, as well as making it easier for the dog to get in and out.

Now, now, you know that's not true, it's only your subjective opinion about something besides his actual question
