Gentlemen, just had a friend call me and offer me his Supercharger off of his totaled 2014 Tacoma. He’s asking $2500 which is worth it by itself, but what do I need to look out for regarding possible damage & or additional pieces needed for the reinstall? Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Won’t be able to offer much help
in directly answering your question although there are many here who will be able to, that being said, if this individual is a friend as you say, have you asked him/her this very question, you would think they would be looking out for your best interest, hopefully? That’s where I would start anyways. Best of luck, and I’m sure others will chime in with much more useful information.

It all depends on how the truck was wrecked. If nothing impacted the engine bay then there should be nothing wrong with the supercharger.

    That's a steal...

There is a fit kit that helps mount it to your engine, so you would need the brackets and such as well. The injectors are also needed.

Then you would need to flash your ECU to the TRD SC tune. Totally doable. Or get HPTuners.

Upgraded fuel pump if he has one, see what kinda SC belt tensioner he was running and ask for that as well.

Hard front left impact. Haven’t seen the truck yet. Hopefully will get pics this week.

Sweet, totally doable, it’s all still installed on the motor so I can take it off as needed. Some parts I’m sure will need to be replaced though. You have a place of links that might provide some of the details for kits, etc?

I would think it will be good to go still. If he will let you remove it yourself then it will be even better. Get the installation instructions and just work backwards to ensure you get as much as possible off you would need to reinstall it on your truck.

THIS is exactly what I need. I’ve got the installation instructions but this Bill of Materials is going to tell me what all I need to remove or replace from his truck. Much appreciated in the thread from airbody. S/C+cam gears+HP Tuners= Power & Control over fuel use. That’s my outlook.

Without any underhood visuals, I would think the cooling system for the SC would need to be replaced. The SC coolant reservoir and heat exchanger are probably toast.

Wonder if the impact damaged the SC nose cone, etc... if so, I think its too much of a risk for purchase.

I do not know enough about the system to understand what other components would be potentially affected, this seems like a great place to start though. Sure I have read the install manual but it helps having a truck in front of you. Hopefully gonna go check it out the next day or two. Thanks for the replies everyone.
