I don’t have a problem with the high roof. I just think that simply adding a light bar across the entire back seems a bit lame and played out.

Let’s not get started on the looks of the front end again. I think most already agree that it’s pretty hideous. :D

Projecting how you feel on to others because you are too weak to have your own opinion is definitely a sign of strength.

Projecting? There’s 135 pages here of people saying how ugly it is compared to a Tacoma.
I saw one yesterday driving with my kids and my son says “what’s up with those weird lights?” :D

Me too. Especially since it’s been raining here the last 2 days. They do all look like the same little wiper, probably made by Trico. I do like how the 4Runners is hidden while not in use. It also allows for the rear window to roll down which is a nice feature in an SUV.

Super dry here, so when it does rain the wiper on the wife’s Trooper is rotted, and pretty much useless. That SUV has ambi doors, which I have love hate relationship with. Great for loading, but it has a safety latch you have to pull to close, it is a pain in the neck, just can’t grab the door and shut it.

Can’t see the wiper because of the spare.

This comment from the R1S auction is funny.

“Have driven the R1S and can confidently say that it's worth every penny considering it truly is like 3 cars in 1: Sports car, off-roader, comfortable and luxurious SUV. Can't wait to see where this one goes!”

This person must have never driven a sports car or off road. Also for that price you could buy a WRX, a 4Runner and a side by side. o_O

But if you can only have one vehicle it does a decent job at all three. That's the reason I have a TRX honestly - I don't want to have more than one vehicle and need a truck to haul/tow/offroad but also want to have a sports car for fun sometimes.

I drive a 4Runner and will hands down drive a Rivian R1T over a 3rd Gen any day of the week and twice on Christmas.

As a matter of fact, now that I’m not paying alimony imma put a deposit on a R1T.

now, the question is… who gets the boot?!?!

My point is if you are spending $122K on an SUV then you can easily have more than one vehicle. Also there is more to a sports car than just going fast in a straight line. A big heavy truck or SUV is not a sports car to me no matter how much horse power it may have.

You're not wrong, having one vehicle to do it all is never as good as a purpose built vehicle for each style of driving. With the jack of all trades option though I can have a truck that is still more fun and faster on road in all conditions compared to my Tacomas, can tow and haul more and is more fun offroad until it gets tight and you ding a door. That hurt this weekend.

Torque vectoring and a very low center of gravity go a long way. This is what you want.

The only vehicle I owned with a rear wiper was a 1988 VW Golf, it had a sprayer for washer fluid so the wiper lasted awhile.

It is dry rot here, we basically don’t get any rain from June until mid September. So when it does rain, it just smears the grime around. Our Trooper has a sprayer too, doesn’t seem to help any.

Then again, I don’t drive it much…but when I do, woman…don’t you ever clean the windows!? She doesn’t care about vehicles, it is an appliance to get her where she needs to go. Way too busy to even care, as long as it runs who gives a shit what it is!? Thinks it odd how we guys go on and on about them. If she would actually read threads like these, she would laugh her ass off on what a bunch of dumbasses we all are. lol!

What is even weirder, I paid a whole dollar for our Trooper…thinking I could have 122’000 of those things. Wonder what size garage I would need for all of them???

Hey, did you folks know that there’s a matchbox R1T coming out in 2022?

Does it look just like the R1S pictured that I assume is at the Venice Hub?
