Yeah I remember those days. Get that front coil over down to a 10/10 stack and report back. I think that’s gonna make things 100x better

I’m looking forward to it. For the most part I’ve hated this thing for a while now.

Took some complaints from an important passenger to get me motivated to fix it.

Anyone running the deaver h70HD spring under? Dont want to get back into a HD spring setup when I dont carry more than 200lbs.

This is the only spring dmz recs even after I told them my weight carrying specs.

Camburg offers a prerunner spring with their setup but I dont want to mismatch parts with companies that know what theyre talking about.

I believe @906taco has those and pulled a leaf out and it was perfect for his moderate weight in the back. He can chime in with specifics.

Alright, so like randy said I am on the HD pack. My issue was how high the rear sat, after a call to Deaver they suggested pulling the 5th leaf. Doing so dropped the truck down where I wanted it and softened things up. I would not be afraid of going to the HD pack in the least. My truck rides incredible like this.

Basically an empty bed. But a tube rear bumper and frame plating/bracing. Probably equates to around 150lbs over stock

Cool, thats probably will be me as well.
Ill trust dmz and get the leaf pack they reccommend. Based on your experience I might pull that leaf before i even install.

I wonder if the different rear shackle design between JDFab and DMZ plays a role? Are you using the DMZ setup?

Have not ordered any kit yet. As of now DMZ has been super helpful and promt with the responses so if they say use X leaf pack, I will trust them as this will be my first long travel build.

For what it’s worth, the JD fab kit is nuts. Both front and rear. I couldn’t be happier. I would give them a serious look.

Also, from what im hearing from others the regular H70 pack is bordering too light for even a stock truck. That’s likely why DMZ says HD only. It took some playing around with valving to make the rear work, but with a heavier spring I was able to back off of the compression a good bit as HD’s have crazy good bottom out control. And it still rides amazingly smooth and plush.

I definately like JD rear hanger and its adjustability.

I just imagine a HD pack only being soft at higher speeds...is this completely wrong?

    Whole lotta stuff
H70 is what a lot LT tacoma kits use now. Camburg, JD, and I think DK also use it. DMZ has their own custom leaf springs made by deaver for their kit last I checked.

Edit: I’d do what @906taco did and do the HD and remove a leaf if needed.

Tim was great answering my questions. Seems like a really good dude. I felt a little bad not going with their setup after the help. I know their stuff is tried and true but i didn’t really want the low hanging shackle hangers like camburg ect. which i why i was stoked to get in the jd sua early. Its been really good to me. Have the h70s which are crazy plush. Put it in reverse and the truck just sits. Crouches? lol hard to explain just more pinned to the ground. I know you aren’t going in that direction which is probably smart just throwing my experience out there. I've only had about 200lbs in the rear. Access cab.

*and by not going in that direction i meant the h70s

One last question, and i dont want to ask the manufacterers as this might offend them:

Using a camburg bedcage with a dmz sua kit?
    Cage is a cage right?

Should work just fine. Just make sure to cycle everything before placing the lower shock tabs
