    Hello,

I was looking to use the external power plug in my truck bed. Is this something that can be used with the car off? And if so, what would be a good estimate for how long it can be plugged in without draining my battery? Or, is general practice to let the engine run while using the plug?

I don't think you can use the bed outlet without engine power.

You know, I don't like you at this point. I see the fucking manual and I've read it. How long until I need a jump?

Never, because the truck has to be running.

Actually the truck doesnt need to be running to use the inverter. But keep in mind the truck will turn itself off after 15 minutes when put into acc mode (I think)

That's awesome, gonna have to try that. It means I've got enough time to inflate the kayaks without gassing up the launch area. Thanks for taking the vid man!

There was a big fight last year about it, and no one wanted to walk outside to check... they all just kept quoting the manual... so I went outside filmed it and put a end to the bickering.

*checks above* Yep, seems about the same as I left it.

I know a manual is only as good as the information given to the writers. I also know engineers build shit they don't document all the time tho... Cheers for bringing receipts!

That's IG power in your video, not ACC. The fuses that provide power to the inverter are on the IG side, so ACC will not work. Just to alleviate any confusion.

That is highly dependent on your battery capacity and how much juice you are using. Leave the engine running and you won’t have to worry about.

All over the clock dude. Depends on condition of battery, type of battery, etc.

If you don't want to take up a switch spot an OBDII reader or app will display voltage as well. My 2021 puts out 13.4 - 13.8 at idle and on the road. Stock Lead Acid Interstate batt so I haven't messed with charging voltage.

Yeah, I usually suggest these ones as some people dont like to give up their 12v outlets.

What are you planning to use with the bed outlet?
