    Corbin house:
    2 acres, all flat, all usable
    pool
    mature fruit trees
    mature grape vines
    4 door mega metal barn
    house built in 2020, gorgeous interior, still in brand new condition
    12 miles from my in-laws

    London house:
    25 acres, but 98% forest/hills/unusable
    nice pond right next to house, stocked with fish by current owner
    5 miles from my in-laws
    no close neighbors
    house built in 2005, needs minor touch ups

    We were all set to put in an offer on the London "pond house" until we went to see the Corbin property over the weekend. As soon as we saw it in person, it was obvious we need that [Corbin] house! We met with our realtor yesterday to get an offer written up. Our CA place went into contract on Saturday, expected close of Escrow on 3 October, so we have perfect timing to get my VA loan eligibility back to use on this place.
