A little bit of this, and a little bit of that.
Nothing too crazy, but I'm still tripping out on it. My blind spot monitors have been broken for about 9-10 months now(thank god you can turn them off, or the truck would constantly scream at me to visit the dealership to get them fixed) but I had completely forgotten that I had the parts ordered for it until a few days ago when I got the call that they had shown up(there's a TSB out for this issue, not sure what trims/years are affected, but no cost to me). dropped it off yesterday, and I was asked if I wanted a cash appraisal offer for the truck from the dealership, so I said sure why not. for reference, I bought the truck from this same dealership back in Feburary of 2021. 13,000 miles on the dash, bone stock 2019 TRD OR in a 6MT, for $36,490 sticker,, $36,800 out the door. They offered me $44,500 as it sits right now with 40,xxx miles on it. Definitely not going to do it, as Im too attached to the truck, but still crazy that they're willing to pay OVER MSRP for a 3 year old truck with 40,000 miles.

    pictures for reference/proof.

when I got the truck: IMG_4833.HEIC.jpgIMG_4882.jpg

as the truck sits right now(roughly. I'm always adding/changing little shit on it because I cant help it): IMG_0355.HEIC.jpgIMG_5914 2.HEIC.jpg IMG_4187.HEIC.jpg

LOL That comment made my day.

I didn't know what to put on the panel as my GERBER and Leatherman case straps do not unsnap. I guess I have old school tools. I had to justify it somehow!! :)

I guess there are more random things to put there though.

I forgot to add this in on the original post, but this dealership currently has a 2019 TRD Sport with a 6MT on the lot for $41,990 with 49,xxx, which IMO is absolutely absurd.

My truck is worth more now with 70k on it then it was new on the lot, problem I couldnt get a new truck if I sold this one, I refuse to buy a $50k tacoma. I bought mine new 36k otd in 2019 for a trd offroad, there was over 200 trucks on the lot at the time.

my thoughts exactly on it. yes, I could sell it for $45,000, but then I'd have to turn right around and spend that entire $45,000 to get something even close to what I have right now. Its just not worth it, especially because at this point, the tacoma is perfect. I have had to do absolutely nothing to it since I got it, with the exception of changing the oil, and new tires. (I don't count the recall stuff, like the fuel pump and blindspot monitors, because those are just manufacturer fuckups, and nothing actual mechanically wrong/anything I've done to it)

    Hey neighbor! ;)

Yeah, they tried to sell me a 2021 Off-Road for slightly more than it was to buy new. Absolutely not! I'd rather wait and buy new and know exactly how it was driven and maintained than pay the same or more for one that's already got miles on it.

They're definitely pretty steep on prices, especially since everything has gone up. I just lucked out with my truck. I got the story from the sales lady, because obviously, I want to know why one of the most sought-after tacoma trims and transmissions is sitting on the lot with 13k miles on it, but the backstory on it was that the guy who owned it previously already had 2 kids, and had another on the way, so he traded in his lease early and upsized to a tundra, hence why the truck was available, and then even more randomly, I was talking to one of my girlfriends neighbors who has a fully built out 2nd gen, and he asked some questions about my tacoma, and turns out his best friend used to own it, and he used it as his daily driver around town, and then had his built out 2nd gen as a designated overlander!

but long story short, I definitely agree. ressler charges a premium and a half for everything, especially tacomas and 4runners. my girlfriend just recently upgraded from her outback to a 22 4runner TRD OR(non premium), and ressler was asking $51,000, so I found her one in Wyoming, her ideal spec, TRD OR premium for $44,000 out the door.

The dealer I just traded my 2020 Cement OR with 45k miles on it sold it in 2 days for $41.5k, they gave me $39k trade, but I keep my Tacos mint.

Nice, yeah their sales guy really didn't explain the whole Toyota allocation system when I first started my seeking a new truck back in Feb. I attest 3 months of wasted waiting around due to that which ultimately became 8 months till I took delivery.
I ended up getting my limited from Helena.

the only reason why i ended up working with ressler is because i knew EXACTLY what i wanted, and one friday morning, they happened to have EXACTLY what i wanted sitting on the lot, and i didnt have to worry about, or deal with the allocation system, or anything. i just showed up, dest drove it down the street, looked around it, and said "sold" and that was that for it.

I don’t see how it is possible to have a no cut option. That dash structure is just simply in the way. When I ordered it there was no option about no cut that I can remember. Maybe my memory is faded lol but I don’t remember anything about that…maybe you had to talk to them? I just used the web page and ordered it.

It’s not insurmountable, just a little McGyver’n to get it in. There is a bolt below it where you have to make the cuts. If this happens to you, just minimize the cut to preserve that bolts function.
