I used this in my old truck. Worked well for me for a small seep/leak.

Are you talking about the bulb? I never squeeze enough to get it in the bulb.

I personally used CHF 202 because I worked at Gm for 7 years and due to the cold weather bursting hoses all the previously speced systems that used Dextron were superceeded to this stuff... very pricey and not the recommended spec for our trucks but I figured with -40 here and another dextron system being compatible with it I felt confident using it. I'm 40k onto it with no issues but use at your own risk

That stuff was in our Saab back in the day. It was said to be very incompatible with other fluids. I'm not sure what the flush requirements are, but be careful.

The owners manual for our Volvo was wrong and listed ATF from the previous gen when it actually used Pentosin. Had the stuff on my shelf, but needed to go and buy ATF . . . Well, a year later the rack fragged. I searched the interwebs and found another person that had the same problem. The error was in the OMs through the end of that model run.

I refilled my tundra power steering reservoir with dextron III when the rack was replaced. Never had an issue. Whether clear, or red it made no difference in operation.

This is what I run and it has the stop leak in it also. Does it work yes . I switched to atf dex III and I started creating a leak on my driver side boots. So I've been flushing with the Asian prestone ps fluid and the leak has stopped . This ps fluid similar to stock almost clear fluid .

You are correct. I watch same vid and immediately got the atf out of my system.

I wouldn't try using any stop leak fluid for the power steering if all is normal. Thats like a last resort when a seal is on its way out.

I had a leak and prestone Asian vehicles with stop leak ps fluid fixed the leak.

Yeah just Don't pull the fluid up in to the bulb. Those are not made of rubber that will hold up to that I've turned one in to a single use item that way.

Only in the 3rd gen forum could a power steering fluid conversation degrade into whatever it's starting to degrade into.

F**k the manual.....I'm running maple syrup

Exactly my point, they are dirt fucking cheap so if you do mess one up, your next one will set you back an entire dollar.

    Carry on!

For what it's worth.....I have used Valvoline Maxlife ATF in all manner of Toyotas for many years....including my Tacomas. Some of the vehicles in my extended family are 15+ years old....all with 150k to 200k on them with Maxlife in both the power steering and transmission. Zero issues. A "suck and fill" at each oil change will keep the fluid fresh and literally takes 2 minutes.

I use Valvoline Full Synthetic Electrons in all 4 my current vehicles as they all have electric steering.

You'll feel right at home when 2024 Tacoma comes, I'm willing to bet it's going electric steering just like the new Tundra.

To be honest, I don't have any attachment to hydraulic power steering or whatever the so-called road feel, it just feels heavy and all kinds of road surface imperfections get transmitted via steering wheel. In 4Runners case, it's just way too sensitive and on some roads it feels like I was holding a vibrator.
