Can somebody give me a straight answer!

17x9 -12 offset depth on outside?
17x9 0 offset depth on outside?

Tried pulling it up on web there's no straight answer...atleast I can't find one.

 

It is mixed SAE and Metric math.

The easy one is that 17x9 0 offset is 4.5in from the hub to lip in both directions.

The -12mm offset will give you about 5.0in from the hub to the outer lip and 4.0in from the hub to the inner lip.

 

I always find it easier to look at backspacing.

 

What do you mean by depth on outside? Are you talking about the lip? If the wheels are the same, the -12 offset will have about 1/2" more lip compared to the 0 offset. Different wheels have different designs so it is basically impossible to compare them with specs alone.

Screw all the damn conversions, Southern Canada needs to ditch SAE, yesterday.

 

the -12 will give you about 1/2" deeper lip....not sure if that is what you are looking for


also, will stick out from the side of the vehicle by about 1/2" more

Alright. It seems that you are looking for pics of each offset to help make your decision. Pics of every offset and finish are very rare from any wheel MFG. The only way to get those would be to trawl through pics of folks that actually have them, if you are lucky enough to have the offsets posted with the pics.

In the end, the pics you see advertised are not likely the 0 offset versions since negative offsets almost always look better. So, regardless of measurements between these two wheels, the 0 offset one are likely going to have a 1/2in less lip than you are seeing advertised.

Guess I'll wait to lift my truck and put 20x12 with -44 on it.
