My parents' house has two separate central air-conditioners, and then I've got the portable unit in my bedroom... :D

I like it cold, and I can't sleep when it's warm in my room! I don't really care about conserving energy when it comes to keeping house nice and frosty during the summer! :luvya:

On another note, I've only had a vehicle overheat on me once, and it wasn't even mine! It was a JDM 1996 Mitsubishi Delica Space Gear that the owner of a dealership let me take for a spin, and what's funny is that it was late February 2022 and fairly cold out when this happened!

I drove my Land Cruiser while towing in 122° heat in Phoenix and my Taco daily in 115°+. Before I moved to that shit hole, both vehicles had been in the PNW their entire lives. Now they're back, we still get the occasional 105° day tho up here and they're fine.

106 today. My 13 year old truck couldn’t care less. Cooling systems are really pretty simple. If your radiator isn’t clogged, your thermostat opens like it should, and your water pump is pumping, you’ll have plenty of capacity to cool. My A/C keeps the cabin nice and cool. You do notice a little better cooling when moving though.

I could have had it rebuilt but it was not cost effective, I ended up buying a junkyard engine with 3k miles on it for $2700

Hey, I liked the Delica, and here's what happened...

That green L400 was fresh off the boat from
and hadn't even been titled in PA yet. Unbeknownst to the dealership owner, a coolant hose had snapped; I should have suspected something was wrong when theheater didn't work, but I made it 8 miles from Philly to Bensalem before it boiled over. The guy took full responsibility for handing the keys to a van that hadn't been inspected yet, and I was able to limp it back to Philly after filling the radiator with spring water from a nearby grocery store.

We have a lot of these in town as well as LiteAce and HiAce trucks. I see maybe 5 of these to every one USDM Land Cruiser these days.

Not all modern vehicles are created equally lol. I'm not entirely sure I'd trust a Delica to get me to the grocery store and back

Seriously though, if you took a 3rd gen tacoma and parked it in the middle of death valley and turned the a/c on high and put a brick on the accelerator to redline and left it for 6 hours, I doubt it would be an issue.

The cooling on our trucks, and modern fluids and computerizers basically just let them run kinda wherever they happen to be.

My favorite saying with the 3.5 is, "I paid for the whole tachometer, I'm gonna use it" No issues running mine in the upper RPM band in the middle of the summer, at altitude, going 80mph.

I bought my 2016 Sport, hooked up 1000 pounds of trailer behind it, and drove it from Reno to Seattle before it had 500 miles on it. Put another 60k miles on it before I traded it in on my '20. No issues.

If I could play football in full pads in 115 degree heat all summer this little tacoma aint gonna break a sweat!

The leather seats do suck when you get into your vehicle and its 130 inside. Why tacoma doesn’t have cooled seats!

One of the reasons I bought my '20 was because Toyota figured out after 40 some years that a powered drivers seat was a thing
