Kid smoke - Thank you. I’ve not been happy with any of my sets. I’ll happily take the recommendation of heat. I do have MAPP gas in my plumbing kit.

And they charge another $400 in shipping from Amazon so it's actually cheaper overall.

I really wanted to buy one of the 125cc pit bikes they sell for like $600-700 just the mess around on and hopefully try to get the wife to learn a bike clutch but after I realized it would cost damn near as much in shipping as the bike itself I had 2nd thoughts.

I guess I'm not allowed to have nice things on a woods bike.

That night ride I lost both flags and immediately bent the new hand guards straight up.

You can see it on the left side of this pic:

Luckily I didn't throw away the old flags yet.

It took a lot to bend them back down. You need a vice and a massive adjustable wrench to get the proper leverage to fix them. As of right now I do not recommend this style, super disappointed considering how long my older fastways lasted.

At least you had the hand guards! That would have hurt without them

I bent my original barkbuster aluminum frames on the F800 once and thought no biggie, I'll just heat it up and bend it back so I don't stress crack it or whatever.. Used my MAPP torch and melted it instead :anonymous:

Lol yeah I did something similar to my last set trying to bend it back in place and straight sheared it. :bananadead:

I am looking at this set as my next possible set:

    https://reflexracing.com/collections/recurve/products/recurve-black

It's an interesting concept. I thought locking down everything at the mount and the bar end would be the strongest solution but it bends where the frame meets the mount now. What I thought was a benefit of being rock solid instead meant things just bent instead of moving up and down (rotating) like my cycra pro bends did on the DRZ. The dude I ran with the other night was running these and can't say more positive stuff about them. Basically they actually purposely flex up and down in a hard digger but can be popped back into place by hand without needing to take out the allen key set. But when hitting a tree (straight on hit) they are perfectly solid and don't move.

Got a new shifter, brake pedal, and adjustable lowering link. I bought a 1.75" link, but after getting the Rally Raid Level 1 I may need to adjust the suspension back up a bit. The Level 1 is essentially a lowering suspension too(in a way).

This is the lowering link I have on right now.

Sometimes I sit here at work staring at my bike through the windows, wondering how much happier I'd be if I was riding motorcycles for a living
