An EV that pipes out fake exhaust sound to simulate being an obnoxiously loud muscle car is incredibly corny, IMO.

Most likely you can turn off the sound.

That's very much besides the point.

Delorean walkaround...with seats that hug and kiss you...really. Oh and 0-100 mph in just over 3 sec. so they say.

Expect anything less from a Chrysler product??? :D
Kewl, though the Hyundai N Vision 74 has more of a Delorean vibe than the new Delorean does.

I never thought I'd say it but that's a pretty awesome looking Hyundai.

I work in construction and the project I am on, our joint venture decided to order 50 EV trucks to see if they can be worthwhile. I am 58 miles from the job site and they decided to have me be a tester of it. We have had four f150 Pro’s for about a week and have a couple opinions on them.

    Pros
1.) Instant Torque. Highway construction is is pretty dangerous when merging into traffic from a construction zone when vehicles are traveling 70+mph. Having the torque is super beneficial to merge into traffic.

2.) ford did a very good job at making the truck feel like a truck. It has all the similarities of a F150, but you just don’t hear it.

3.) the headlights on the front end are very impressive. All the old F150 work trucks I had received in the past (XL and XLT’s) always came with Halogen. These are LED and are great at spreading light.

    cons
1.) lack of infrastructure- I’m located in the DFW Metroplex and we don’t have near as many of the rapid chargers as other areas in the US. You really have to plan your day on where you can charge and for how long. Our company is still figuring out the chargers at the office as well as our home, so the next few weeks will be a challenge. The closest rapid fast charger (takes about 45 minutes to charge) is 15 miles from my house. If I charge using a 120v, the speed is terrible. I charged for over 20 hours and only got about 60 miles of charge.

2.) vinyl seats- I know that it is a Pro, but the trucks are very nice. They ruined it with the vinyl seats. They are unbelievably hot and actually uncomfortable. I ordered some seat covers which should be here this week. Hoping this makes a difference.

3.) the frunk is nice but they made it way too complicated. Everything’s electric so you have to wait for it to open, close, etc. not sure why they could not have made it just a latch and when you close it, the hood will lock more in place. When opening or closing it makes a stupid beeping noise and in public you worry people think you’re showing off.

I’m still not a believer in the electric vehicles. If they can solve the charge speeds, I would be a believer, but just not to it yet. Thinking it will be a while until they can really figure that out.

Nice real world feedback - yeah for a fleet you'll want L2 at the depot or at the employee residences. 120v is fine for PHEVs but for a BEV it really doesn't cut it.

It’s good to see the Lightnings rolling out into owners hands. My reservation came up today to order a MY23 Lightning for Spring 2023 delivery. I was on the fence and holding out hoping to get a straight XLT (package 311A) with the long-range battery. Nope, extended range and 312A still bundled for $80K+….for an XLT. Someone else can (and will) have it. I’ve cancelled that reservation. Looks like a fantastic platform.

Still have reservations in for our household on both Rav4 Prime and for the ID.4. Will see which comes in first and which we like.

With the RAM EV truck maybe moreso. Dunno anything comparable in this line that's currently EV. Non off road competitor could be the Model X maybe? I"m thinking more on the Dodge EV pickup will be coming out soon.
