It goes to the tail/parking wire (many locations to choose), they can't write instructions for every vehicle. Or email them :fingerscrossed:
You also need to test the function BEFORE installing it.

Please let us know how this works out for you. I am curious about these aftermarket systems.

After being lost one week by Amazon and then delayed a day by UPS I finally got it in, I had already added the turn signal mirrors with the bsm so I also wired into that as well. All the wiring went as the above thread says tap into the under hood fuse box for 4 of the 6 connections (Left turn, right turn, reverse light, parking lights)1 ground connection at kick panel 1 connection a 12 volt fuse that is on/off with key I used a add a fuse to under dash fuse box and 2 connections into the OBD port they do give you a obd plug you just can plug in. I did strip all my wires back and soldier them all in no cutting of any wires. Every wire reached except the wires that go to the rear so I soldiered in about 2 feet of wire there are only 4 wires you have to lengthen and the kit comes with a lot of extra wire. If you don't know how to soldier you should learn its very easy!!

Everything works as intended except I need to move my rear sensors over some its picking up a vehicle on both sides the sensor lights so I have the in the wrong spot but this shouldn't take very long since the bumper covers come off so quickly. So a vehicle passing on my left both sides are lit up by my mis position.

Think I needed the sensors in line with the tail light as red line in picture I put them too far over. Instructions say mount at a 45 degree angle I think I did but needed to be moved over a little they even include a protroctor for doing the angles which I still messed up. lol Or I don't have it at 45 degrees.

Oem sensor I tried to match where it was but this one is smaller.

Ok got it figured out you cannot connect it the the mirror BSM lights it activates both sides just use the lights in kit. Something else I missed there is a left (Drivers) right (pass) look at back of sensor for a l or R.

You can run test by turning headlights on/off real fast ten times. As soon as you turn key on start turning then you hear beeps. Its in the instructions make sure the turn signals match the lights and turns solid in test mode with the correct blinker selected. Also the Bsm light will dim with headlights on.

Go drive and make sure it picks up a vehicle in the blind spot, I had mine spot on its not super sensitive as long as you have it in the corner. Everything is working perfect now.

Here's where mine went. Ill probably mount it with some studs (bolts, nuts form backside soon) but may not.

    Incorrect. plug hits cover.

Correct sensor higher up cover doesn't hit plug. Above red line.

I pretty much eyeballed where the corner of the truck is with the bumper cover on and marked it then used a small level to get it straight side to side. Level with truck.

Still working fantastic like an OEM system even the backup sensors are working great. Really nice when your backing the truck out of a parking space and can't see what's coming. :bananadance:

10/26/22 still like OEM no issues nice for extra safety and backing out of blind spots its a must. Probably best thing I've done to this truck.

I know this an ancient thread, but to the original poster or anyone who has installed this:
Did you have metal rear bumper caps (corners)?

I ask because for the most part the gen 3 Tacomas with the technology package seem to have plastic, color-matched bumper caps and the trucks without the tech pkg seem to have, with few exceptions, metal caps.

The manufacturer states this system cannot be installed with metal end caps.

I'd like to know if you made it work with metal caps, you were one of the few without the tech package but with plastic caps or if you *also*, in addition to the system, bought plastic caps to replace your metal ones?

    Thanks!
