It’s September so I’m drinking Oktoberfest all month. The whiskey is shelved.

Edit: also watching the game. Jealous of the Bills fans’ riches.

 

Have not had that but big fan of the small batch bourbon. Straight rye not bad either.

 

Running dangerously low. Pumped for NFL action!!

 

I felt the same way when I had my first one. let it sit now and get some air, it gets better.

I just learned the other day there's a barrel proof version of this running around. Would love to get ahold of one of those.

 

Interesting, I'll have to keep an eye out. Been seeing posts of the 18 Year on IG. Guessing that was recently released?

Maybe I missed convos on this previously, but have heard and read reviews saying the 12 is much better than the 15. Anyone had both?

 

I have both. I just haven't had both.

I happen to think the bottles in their proper case is a cool thing.

 

Me too, hence the disappointment when they stuck em in a wine case instead

 

Operation bottle kill has been a success, so I’m cracking something new. Not bad, I can see myself checking out more of their options

 

have both…really enjoy both bottles but they are different animals. 12 is just a great representative of classic bourbon done well and the 15 is more subtle with a bunch more oak.

I would lean towards 12 being better if cost wasn’t a factor, but for the money the 12 crushes 15

Back in the day, when I drank Beam and Cokes, I thought JD was too sweet. But age and taste buds change. Getting back into bourbon/American whiskey, I tried regular JD. Bananas and delicious! This is a slightly hotter version I guess that's how I would describe it. Maybe it's just the neck pour if that's really a thing.
