I was planning to send off the forks and shocks to have them setup for my weight and freshened up. I didn't want too old of a bike when I was looking. Near impossible to find a new yz 2 smoker in CA. My neighbor had to get his ktm xc shipped into the state from the east coast. I'm thinking to make it look like a '21. The new subframe is too much work to change to a 22+. It's a fun bike. Feels like a big pit bike. Plus it already has a 144 kit to help with the bottom end a bit more. I had an 03 when I was 17. I was dumb and sold it for a kx250 that made me slower because I couldn't keep the front wheel on the ground.

Yeah I'm up 40lbs from my last 125. 50 tooth rear sprocket helped me out and a 144 kit.

Finally got my old goat shined up after putting it back together. Hoping to get out this weekend after a few weeks off.

I feel like most people probably expected that. No point resigning him when they have Chase for '23 and Jett is moving up mid-year. They signed the guy to big money in '17 to win Championships and 0 were won. Obviously the injuries were part of the deal but all things considered, I think that relationship has run it's course. Writing has been on the wall for a while now, in my opinion.

I wonder how tied to him Redbull still is at this point, too. Heard a lot of opinions that gasgas or ktm are his only options because of Redbull. For some reason I could see him on Husky, though. That team is in shambles, even with Craig moving over.

I would think he will do his best to keep that personal sponsor (Redbull.) I have no idea what his future plans are. Supposedly it's WSX rounds are on Firepower Honda. As far as if he does AMA stuff, I'm not sure what team would work. Husky with Stew and Craig isn't bad. Maybe adding him would be decent but that would end up being a pretty costly 3-man 450 team. Plus He would have to leave Redbull for Rockstar and Rockstar I think is only currently signed on to husky for another year. There was speculation they may drop off of the title sponsor afterwards. Gasgas wouldn't be bad. People keep saying Star but I don't see that. Supposedly Star put in an offer to Sexton. And I still think they will try to get Webb. So it just doesn't make sense for KR to go there. We will see.

This is what a buddy and I were debating a couple weeks ago. Yamaha is becoming more practical for Chase when you look at their currently lineup of Grey beards coupled with chaos/inundation of the 250 riders.

Boy howdy, Chase on the new 2023 would be like watching a grown man throw around a BMX bike :bikewhoops:

Also, Husky for KR comes to mind because I feel like that team knows they need x2 riders for both indoor and outdoor. Anyone's guess, though.

.... Or he'll be Triumph's first big signing

Plus, Chase is a Monster rider, so he could keep that. If he goes to KTM he would have to change. Not a huge deal but some guys like to keep that relationship. Chase to Yamaha would be good. I can see him going 1 of those 2 places, for sure.

I just don't see 3 450 riders on Husky but only 1 on the KTM for outdoors (AP.) Financially that just doesn't make sense to me. Not saying it couldn't happen but I think Husky would be the last brand of the trio, if he were to got hat route. Plus, no way KR goes back to Aldon. So I think that could also be a potential issue.

Those are all good points, I didn't even think of Aldon.

@AJH387 that said, I feel like Husky still has a huge void to fill with Dean retiring and Malcom only racing Super. A x3 man team wouldn't be unreasonable if only x2 guys are on year round contracts (Craig and...) . Any thoughts on who they may pick up, if they do?

Curious where he go for the 23 ama season. I can see him still staying with redbull. Worst case he might work with a smaller team outside of factory. That really depends on money and how he likes the bike. This is probably the start for other riders following his path with wsx.

Malcolm is also on a full-year deal. Not sure if that changes your perspective at all but in theory there are 2 Husky 450 riders for the whole year. I get what you are saying though. A 3-man roster isn't ridiculous by any means, but I just think going to that team wouldn't be as easy of a transition as the Gasgas would be. Just if anything having less guys on the team and he could keep Redbull. But for some reason I just don't see him going to the trio brands, but I could be totally wrong on that.
