Yeah, the steepness and ice makes sense, and I was aired down so I was doing really good, but the last run I was on with that much snow, it would just cause you to dig down and you'd start plowing until you lost momentum. I guess that's what I'm most curious about unless they just haven't shared stories yet.

yea theirs a point where you lose momentum, im sure one of them will chime in eventually if they got bogged at one point or another.

I bet that's all you did. I can't imagine you tweaked your towers and there's no way you screwed your frame up. Haven't decided if I'll just plate the rear frame or go all the way and box it. Probably going to plate the front frame for good measure.

    About to say I couldn't, but I just searched again and...BAM! http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/Energy-Suspension-Universal-Shock-Eyes.asp

I used the one piece hour glass bushing. I want to say it was part #98108

AZ started a Monday meet where we just hit up dinner somewhere locally to hang out and chill... it's worked out pretty well even if only a few of us are 'regulars' but it's a good way to get to know peeps outside of just trucks :D

I was doing that as one of the monthly things but a weekly or even bi-weekly dinner hangout would be kinda cool. Lord knows I'm going to stuff my face somewhere anyway, might as well have others around as well.

Trail-gear. And they sell both a box and plate kit for the rear frame.

I'm not sure where we were other than "we're going south", as Eric is pointing at some mountain in the clouds. If you're in the snow you need to air down as much as you can. That's the best thing you can do. I was at 5 psi and didn't have any problem getting around. Eric started off at 15ish (I think) and once I started breaking trail in about 16-24" of fresh snow Eric began getting stuck. Once we got him down to 8 psi he started moving again. You want the largest foot print you can in the snow. That'll help you float on the snow and you're less likely to dig in. If you're driving on a sheet of ice then the only thing that's going to help you are chains.

I'll have pictures of our run uploaded a little later tonight or tomorrow.

Alright need to plan next event. I think there might be two for March, something that might be some snow wheeling and one for wrenching.

I know there's projects to do, who needs work done?
    Who has garage space?

Where do you want to do the wheelin? I'm guessing it may be not terribly technical (since most of us are still light with recovery gear, lol), just lots of snow. Also trying to take it more central, like Mary's Peak or Crooked Finger.

well, as for snow wheeling at Marys....Their a a few tiny trails tucked in their, but really its just open road with snow on it. Not really entertaining to much(at least to me). I may or may not have a project to do, but think ill finish it myself in the next two weeks.

Maybe take a run at the dunes for a change, something that everyone could enjoy and we know that recovery isn't very hard with the equipment im assuming most people have.

That's about my feelings as well. It's really hard for me to figure what a good snow wheeling location would be. Goat can be kinda fun but the road back down gets hella icy and I've seen plenty vehicles off the side of the road. Barlow would be cool - it's a mild trail when dry, but snow would make it moderate I'm sure. However you are looking at 4k elevation, so it would require a scouting trip at the very least.
I just want to pick something that people can DO without having to screw with a map every intersection and the GOOD parts being impossible.

Sand lake is way doable if you can generate the interest.

I'm down. That way we don't have to worry about which trails to take and know everyone can make it. I've never been to the dunes but can only imagine it can get pretty boring after a few runs of just driving back and forth?? Someone chime in and change my opinion!!

oh its pretty fun, usually to try to make it up certian hills is the fun part. Its a change of pace, but by the end of the day you feel like you want to do something else lol.

Hmm..well I wouldn't mind the dunes. It's up to what the majority of the group wants. I'm down for anything within reasonable driving distance and date. I think furthest I'll drive is to Florence. MAYBE.

florence over all is better dune access then sand lake. Theirs a SHIT TON of areas and the largest ocean side dunes in the US. Sand lake is closer for the majority of you guys tho, plus sand lake compared to florence on a nice weekend is less busy. Florence usually is packed, but again lots of places to drive around and not see people.
