    fellow enthusiasts,

i have a 2017 3rd gen running the rough country 3.5" lift kit. my passenger side UCA joint is shot and looking for a replacement. do you have any suggestions as to what uca to get??
front struts are adjustable Vertex and i have them raised up a little, so truck is sitting at around 4".
I've been looking at the "JBA STD HIGH CASTER UPPER CONTROL ARMS" can anyone recommend anything better without breaking the bank? (around the 600$ mark)

JBA's are good. 4" of lift is bad.

JBA's are good because the ball joint is a quick change and you can adjust the caster more. 4" is bad because these truck's suspension geometry doesn't like it. You will destroy CV's rather quickly.

I have SPC but check the group buys and see if there are any on there.

i have spacers under the drive shaft carrier which cancels the CV problem. i need the clearance for off-roading and i have 33.8" tyers so they wont rub. i just dont like the cabin cutting thing for rubbing issues.

Okay you're right. You won't have any CV issues at all. I'd just put a stock UCA back on the truck.

SPC or JBA will do just fine.

As for the rest of this, just to clarify did you do a carrier bearing drop for the driveshaft or a front diff drop or both. Cause a CB spacer for the driveshaft isn't going to help save your CV's angles and blown boots in the future.

yea at the moment its just a bearing drop but thats temporary. looking into a new custom straight drive shaft install and just cancel out the whole middle joint

Nice, just a heads up though that still wont solve potential issues with the CV axle angles up front. Might want to take it into consideration.

Then get SPC UCA's.. this way you can max out caster or close too it on your LCA's and have your alignment done through the UCA. I'm on 35's and don't rub the firewall or cab mount one bit even at full stuff and lock but I do ever so slightly rub the upper fender at full stuff but only when I smash through whoops/washboard roads and take a HARD hit/bottom out. With 33.8 tires you should be good all around and not rub. With the JBA's or any other non-adjustable UCA you will likely rub.
