Looking to throw some 295/75r16s on to my 2nd gen. With Dobinsons 3" lift, UCAs and 16x8 0mm wheels I'm not worried about trimming, just hoping to adjust castor to move everything forward since I have a hybrid bumper.

The real issue here is that I can't seem to find 295/75r16 KO2s in stock. BFG says they are backordered with no ETA. Anyone ordered these recently?

That’s why I gave up on 295s after my last flat. Went back to 285s cause they are easy to find.

I know you want BFGs but have you looked at Mickey Thompson. The New Baja Legends t20220719_034713.jpg hey offer are very nice. I have a set on my Tacoma.

I hadn't considered these, but snow performance is a big factor for me. Technically I'm supposed to have the 3 peak rating to access the canyons here in SLC during a storm (even though there seems to be no shortage of rentals with summer tires...).

Maybe 285/75r16s are the way forward. I just like the idea of getting a little extra meat with the 295 and having a slightly more unique rig. If I had 17s I'd be a 285/75r17 man for sure.

Curious if something changed, I went ahead and got some used 285s to hold me over.

Will advise once I get an update. I pinged the store just to confirm it was coming in next week because I am taking my truck in to a local shop that will be doing some sliders for me, and I would bring the tires for pinch weld and tubbing/trimming work if I had them too.

Then going through the thread I saw the issue with the spare tire location (another surprise for my project).. not sure what I'm going to do with my 5th

Unfortunately it is not likely the tires will be available to that customer. At the national level these tires are back ordered with an ETA of around 12 weeks. It is possible that a set or 2 remains somewhere in a local warehouse however it is not something we can see and if you are really wanting a set, a call to your local Discount Tire or Americas tire would be the best option.

The 285's were a great idea and we would love to earn your business on a set of the 295's when they come back into stock.

Can’t figure out what to do with the spare till I get a bumper, any suggestions that work for off-road.

There’s a small mod you can do to relocate the spare tire carrier under the bed of the truck where your stock spare goes by moving it about 1” further back to fit a 33” tire. It involves drilling new holes in the frame to move the tire carrier chain back. Goal is to keep your spare from having contact with your exhaust which would melt the rubber of your spare. Otherwise slap it in the bed, buy a rack, or get a HC bumper with a spare tire carrier and swingout or get a RIGD tire carrier..

Honestly I only threw in my spare when I went wheeling… not worth carrying all the time. Now I have a C4 rear bumper with swingout and tire carrier so I’m Gucci

Cut the ears of the spare tire carrier underneath. I ran a 295 in the stock location for a long time. Just need to use an angle grinder and cut the weld by the arrow

i do have a chopped tail pipe, not sure if that is needed to fit the bigger tire or not
