Thanks! I did an AAL in the rear so it’s closer to a 2/1.5 vs the 2/1 factory lift but pretty close.

In my opinion this is what the truck should have looked like from the factory. It doesn’t even look “lifted”, it just looks right.

I’ll throw my new wheels and tires on when the stocks are a bit more worn down but for now it’s totally fine and looks good IMO.

I was thinking 1.5 in the back would be better than 1. Did you do the TRD lift or go the Billstein route?

I did the TRD lift, kinda…. I ordered just the shocks for like $360 back when you could still find a dealer to do that and then ordered an icon 3 leaf AAL to lift the rear.

For the money I paid I love how it looks and rides and I’m still almost all Toyota parts… which I think is kinda cool.

EDIT: If I was forced to buy the whole kit, I would have just bought 5100s

I hear ya. I do like the grill though. Is it impossible to buy shocks only now?

Im pretty sure they quit doing it. Might find a dealer that will.

My big question is if I still have this truck when the shocks wear out and need replaced, how are they not going to sell them to me? Haha. It’s not like I’d buy some entire kit just to replace the worn shocks I already have on my truck….

Alas, that’s a problem for another day.

    Good luck!

1st thing I did was, I replaced the junk Kevlar "Highway tires" they put on my Off Road. I upsized to a 265/75/16 (C load) Duratracs. Love it!

2nd best thing I did was the 2" Bilstein 5100 lift.

Here is my before and after of the TRD Lift Kit, both images with stock wheels and tires. Agree that this is how the truck should have come from the factory, at least the TRD OR trim.

It's technically a dealer addon, not a factory Toyota option, so it wont change the VIN. Plus, for those like me who did the upgrade themselves, it also wouldn't have anything to do with the VIN.

I've got those exact tyres for sale where I am for 1200 cad with steelies. How's the ride so far? And what's your mpg now?

So I assume everyone on here that had the OEM lift from Toyota added is happy with the ride and handling? I’m tossing it around going Sport or OffRoad and having the oem lift added. Instead of getting a Tacoma Pro I might go this route. The decision I’m having a hard time with is going Sport or offroad. I don’t off road it’s all for the better look and with the winter time getting around.

Rides been great since day one, before and after the lift. They've been especially great in the winter & summer. Highly recommend them. Are yours C Load?

mpg? No idea as I never check.

Same- I went offroad in the end. Better resale value, locker if you do need it (beach sand, snow), and stock tires a way cooler - even though now I want to get bigger tires lol.

If you’re not taking it off road I’d go sport and save the $1500 difference. Then consider lifting the sport. Not worth paying for the skid, locker, etc if you’re not going to use them.

Ride quality on the lift has been good, though a bit bouncy. I didn’t drive it at all before the lift was installed though so I can’t compare to stock.

The off-road was the same price as the sport when I just bought 2 weeks ago. There was a $34 difference between the 2 models.

I haven't bought them yet, still deciding. I definitely need a 3peak A/T tyre for the PNW. If this is a good deal and works good I might grab them (truck is still 4months out from delivery) and yeah they are C rated

Ride quality wasn't noticeably different when I got the lift kit installed. What changed the ride quality was the new tires and wheels. Went from 245/75/16s to 275/70/17s. The best description I can give is it went from driving a floaty car to driving a real truck

I like that stance on the truck.
