    It will get better
The throttle tip in is better
    Shift a little later
And sown shift a little less
It will feel more like ECT but much smoother
I would say it is for sure worth it

What software version did you use? And did you use a copy of the software?

I have a '19 TRD Off Road V6 auto. I just called the dealer about the TSB and the service writer said he's looking at my VIN and if there were any applicable TSB's for my vehicle it would show on his computer??????

There's no way this fix is in my truck as if you don't put the pedal to the floor, it's a dog accelerating from say 45-50. It barely accelerates until you push far enough to make it kick down about 3 gears and then it's roaring approaching redline. Considering a tune but would prefer a factory fix since it's 100% stock.

Any advice to use with the dealer? If they charge me a diagnostic fee we'll be having it out on the spot.

The plain fact is that this TSB was released after production ended for the 2019 MY. If you were early production, your ECU ID is 04B30. Late production was 04B31. This ECU update will get you to 04B33 and will feel significantly different. A tune on top of that will feel even better, which is why we always update to the latest TSB before applying a tune.

So, this TSB applies to ALL 2019 ATs. ;)

For dealers, they simply need to hook up and run a "Healthcheck." It will show that a TSB is available for at least your Engine / AT if not other ECUs.

Further, this is a 10min operation for them. Total time. For which they typically bill out 0.40hr back to Toyota (book time).

I feel like I'm reading a foreign language following this thread (not very mechanically inclined), but I'm intrigued. I have a 2020 TRD Pro - how much to have an updated TSB done by the dealer?

Late production 2020s were delivered with the calibration in the TSB already applied at the factory. There is one later TSB to only fix the CrawlControl failure that some 2020s and 2021s had. If CC will not roll over a piece of 4x4 lumber, then you'd need that later TSB update.

As I noted above, the charged time on Work Orders has been a consistent 0.4hrs. Multiply that by your dealer's shop rate to get your best cost. But note that some dealers were bending folks over for much more than $100 to do this outside of TSB coverage.

For local folks, I flash TSB updates and customizations for free.

    Thanks.

I wasn't aware of any CrawlControl failures on the 2020s. Would guess it would be used only a handful of times in the life of the truck, but I'd rather have the comfort knowing it works that way it's supposed to.

Since I'm a little disappointed in the way it drives on the highway (gear hunting, etc.) my assumption is latest TSB wasn't applied at the factory. Is there a way to find out the date my truck was delivered?

    You're welcome!

Since CC is basically offroad cruise control, some folks do use it more often. It's not just for getting unstuck.

Folks on TW have insisted that a 4x4 is the standard to test with, but any typical curb or similar can be used. If your Taco will not crawl over it, then TSB-0042-21 will fix that and would include the calibration from the TSB being discussed here (TSB-0092-20).

As you can see from this thread, a lot of folks do like the results from this TSB. But, there is also a significant group that still feels that the Taco doesn't perform normally. Just a sad fact that even includes 2023s.

That thread has been locked and the shared files removed. Sorry.

    You're welcome!

It was said that Toyota was getting more active about the software, so I chose to back away for a few reasons.
