So unfortunately on Monday, my tire became flat after hitting a trail in Big Bear. The tire was irreparable and had 2 punctures according to the technician I spoke to. Fortunately, I paid for the warranty with Discount Tire.
This is my 3rd time taking my truck off road since I bought these tires last September, and this tire had just about 7,000 miles on it. These tires are 265/75/16 standard load 116S, wrapped around some Method wheels.

Now it could be my fault to an extent. I chose not to air down this time around because the trail was labeled as "Easy" on Alltrails, and it was only 11 miles. The trail was basically dirt with some small rocky areas. The other times, I always aired down.

After the trail was done, I hung out in the village for about 2 hours until heading down the mountain. It wasn't until I was nearly to the bottom that I noticed my rear passenger tire was at 25psi (normally at 34). I pulled over to take my compressor out and filled it to 33 psi, but it still dropped another 3 psi over the next 20 miles home. The next day, completely flat at 2 psi.

It's a bit concerning that this tire was damaged on such an easy trail, even without me airing down. I had originally got the E load rating of these tires put on, but switched to SL to save some MPG, which I did (about 2-3mpg).

I just wanted to write this up to give my experience. If you are heavy on the trails, I might suggest either airing down every time like I should have, and possibly consider just getting the E load of these since they'll probably hold up better.

You prolly just had some bad luck. I ran SL Duratracs that supposedly have weak sidewalls and such, but I never had an issue. Often not lowering my pressure as well. I'm running E now, but only because I haul around a camper. I wouldn't stress too much about it. In fact, just be happy it wasn't a catastrophic fail/puncture.

Long term review of this tire. I had these on my tacoma for 60k and they were great tires, A few things: noisy AF from the get go. MY new less aggressive hankook dynapro makes the car seem silent now. These tires worked great in the colorado winters and had great traction until the other day driving in a deluge they seemed to hydroplane more so I decided to change them out sooner rather than later. Mine were 265 75 16 and were load range E(not what i wanted but thats what they installed) these were heavy and I think they affected MPG and acceleration a bit.

I ended up snagging a set of these from DiscountTire and they look amazing! I've only had them for 500miles so no useful feedback as of yet but I'll update when I crack about 5k miles and get the first rotation. They are quiet but that doesn't mean a whole lot with how few miles are on them.

New to the Tacoma world and will be replacing my stock tires here soon. Stock height 2020 SR5. My question is will discount tire put these on? Great deal with the $110 instant savings and taxes come out to be 800+ with install as well.
Or should I go 70/r16? Thanks!

Discount tire will definitely put that size on your Tacoma. If you go up a tire size there will be a measurable, but very slight decrease in fuel economy, maybe 1mpg. Still, you'll gain about half an inch clearance under the truck. I bought that exact set from discount tire, that's a good deal you're getting.

Thank you! Do you know if these will handle well in the snow here in UT? I bought my truck in South Carolina and they don’t have no use for 4x4 just want to survive getting to and from work

I bought my tires a couple weeks ago and haven't seen any snow yet. I've read a lot of reviews and they seem to do very well according to other folks, probably on par with the Falken wildpeak.

Not long after installing 265/75-16s on our OffRoad Tacoma a couple years ago, we got into some pretty good snow, several inches at least, I think it was close to a foot deep. Mountain roads with hills & corners. The tires handled it extremely well, no problems at all, quite possibly the best snow tires I ever had. I think you'll like 'em.

@Discount Tire can I get a quote and some general information about which tires (size and and load rating) would be best for my 3rd gen tacoma?

I joined the Utraterrain club today: Had five 265/75R16 installed on the Taco. Whether or not I will stay TBD.

    The good:
    - @Discount Tire had some fantastic Labor Day deals!
    - These are is one of the few (if not only) tires I know of with rim protection without going to an LT (these are SL).
-Likewise, these & the MT Baja Boss AT have the deepest tread depth in an SL that I'm aware of.
-No appreciable impact on acceleration or braking in comparison to OEM size.
-So far, I see no impact on fuel economy.
    - Speedometer is now dead-on.

    The bad:
    -Significant vibration at 40+ mph.
    - Four tires all have quite a lot of weights; three have both stick-on and clamp-on (first time I've seen DT hammer weights on an alloy wheel).
    - Front tires rub the mud flap when near-lock going forward, and snag them in reverse (the "pop" gets your attention when backing out of a parking space). I know this isn't a defect, but mention it as others report not having any rub with this size.
-Very thin/soft sidewalls. Such is the trade-off with lighter tires. Will definitely air-down for off road, and got the certificates " just in case".

One thing I found odd... I thought perhaps mine had come from a bad run, but when I checked the date codes, only two of the five were made the same week (the only duplicate being the spare). First time I've ever ordered a set of tires and had more than one not match.

Looks like I'll be going back Monday. I really hope DT can tame these, or get a rounder set for me.
