You’d think ocean front property would be dirt cheap then?

They’re also shutting down Diablo Canyon (a nuke plant in central CA) in 2025. Genius!

I don't think you're understanding what people are saying and why people are pushing back. NO ONE should be forced by a government entity as to which vehicle they can drive. Period. This "no gas vehicles" by 2035 initiative is absolutely selfish. I can already see that there will be A LOT of people who will get laid off because of this.

Dead wrong. It's because people refuse to be forced into something that goes against their own judgment.

California regulators passed rules banning the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035....... so yes, you can't buy a brand new gas powered vehicle in 2035.......

I don’t need to read it. Has it ever occurred to you that people on this board might work in the power generation field? I’ve worked Diablo outage a few times over the years. I can tell you right now, it’s all politics. The local operators know it, as do people like myself that have to deal with it from state to state. Whether it’s a nuke, coal or CT plant.

From acid rain, to another ice age, to a hole in ozone, to global warming and now climate change (to encompass everything so they can’t be wrong). I know “trust the science, it’s settled!”

Yet, growing up it was science was always changing and questioning. All I see is government gaining more power and taxing us more.

So after reading the article, the decision to close the remaining nuclear power plant in California is a largely political choice, and edicts were made by legislation to compensate the loss with other sources of power.(really dumb use of legislation) Those other sources have not materialized in sufficient capacity to make up for the loss. Pretty simple solution is to unfuck the previous decision and invest in keeping Diablo nuclear plant online, until, and if, capacity can be reliably replaced. And that's using science.
