@Taco & Salsa Adjustment is the same as any headlight. Just need to find a good place to do it.
Line up with a level wall and measure distance to each headlight to make sure they are the same distance away.
Mark where the middle of the truck is on the wall. Then mark the middle of each headlight.
Measure down 2 inches and make another mark.
Back up 25 ft making sure not to touch the steering wheel. You want the top of the light to be touching or right below where you measured down 2 inches. This is also when you will move side to side. There is a brighter portion of the light that you want to be centered on the 2 in down tape.
Make sure to do them one at a time. Cover the one you aren't using with a rag or something. Just be careful not to cover it to long so it doesn't overheat and fry anything.

Installed the amber XB’s and 4 Banger HXB’s. Love them. No regrets. Here’s what the combo looks like on MGM.

Anyone have any luck running the fuse tap to the INJ fuse on a 3rd gen TRD instead of the EFI?

I reached out to Morimoto as well just in case things changed and Travis is still recommending fuse tap for all models...

Bc of the BIT that runs on the EFI fuse recommended from the instructions, I had a neighbor come knocking on my door at midnight 2 days after the install telling me i left my lights on. I did read there's still a leak check (or some test) that runs through the INJ fuse as well but haven't been able to confirm it.

A little bummed that for $1.4k something this dumb happens. It's not like it's an unexpected bug or faulty. It's literally just how the tacoma system works and should be expected... kinda annoying but oh well I guess. I do like the lights.

Also, yea I read that people are running them without fuse tap anyway but bc the extra power draw, trying to avoid that

Sweet. I moved it to the same one too. Haven't noticed any issues with it either but wanted to poll the audience. Thanks man.

Just installed the Morimoto XB headlights… but the amber DRL’s turn on every few hours (even if the car is off) I’ve tried plugging it into the EFI and INJ 10amp fuse but it still turns on… Have you guys tried any other plugging into any other fuses so this issue won’t happen?

Inj fuse shouldn't turn on randomly. You sure you used the right one? There are two. I used the one right next to the suggested efi fuse

Also I dig the front of your tacoma. Looks like mine

Hey all! Hope someone could help me out. I have a 2020 TRD Sport and I got the morimoto headlights with the 2020+ harness from Tacoma lifestyle but for some reason when I turn my high beams on they blow the high beam fuse. Not sure if i need to up the fuse from 10 to something higher or if I have something connected wrong but everything else works so I’m stumped.

Did your tacoma come with LED headlights? If so, you can't use morimoto xbs to my knowledge.

Dunno what harness you are using, but they should be plug and play with halogen headlights

I guess they make an adapter for 2020+ that tacomalifestyle and morimoto sell.

    From the Morimoto website:

    NOTE:

2020+ OEM LED Trucks require optional LF531H-2 adapters

Fuse tap is for start up sequence/dance and bright white drl on sr5. Without fuse tap, my white drl morimotos turn amber in drl mode. With fuse tap, I can toggle between white drl (stalk off) and amber (stalk Auto/DRL). When lowbeams are on, fuse tap or not, I get a dimmer white drl

Made a video on how these work on SR5s

Idk man. Plenty of people run it without it. I was just curious if you are because I've seen some people report blowing fuses without it but its anecdotal and they never follow up whether it was for another reason.

Travis from Morimoto told me "The installation guide is for Gen 1 XB headlights. For Gen 2 XB headlights, the DRL fuse tap should be used on ALL Tacoma's regardless of which headlights they originally came with."

Why? I don't know. Hope you figure it out man.

You all might be interested in this post. Morimoto never made these headlights (or any headlights), they were manufactured by CoPlus out of Taiwan under an exclusive supplier agreement to Morimoto. Morimoto was acquired with TRS by Wheel Pros a short while back. Under Wheel Pros, the exclusive supplier arrangement for XB headlights will no longer be continued, meaning these XB headlights will no longer be an exclusive Morimoto product. CoPlus has started coming out distancing themselves from Morimoto in social media while searching for new distributor brands. It sounds like Morimoto might be looking to cut costs under Wheel Pros by using cheaper Chinese suppliers for their headlights (which would be lower quality, and lower performing) rather than paying for the more expensive Taiwanese CoPlus units.

Very interesting read. Glad I got mine in 2021 I suppose. Outside of the poor uplight, and mild pain in the ass to aim these headlights correctly, I do love my "Morimoto xb Gen 2s"

I do not make any harnesses for Morimoto products, unless you count MESO v5 mirror switchbacks as a morimoto product.

Note that polarity on the high beam is the opposite of the low beam for Tacomas which came with halogen headlights. The bulb doesn’t care which way the electrons flow. White w black stripe is always ground. It may simply be that you need to flip the H9 male connector the other way. If it is reversed and the harness you have ties all grounds together, the behavior you describe matches expectations.

All XB headlights are made in Taiwan.
