I'm with others on this one. Learn to live with the 4 banger or sell and buy a V-6. Too much drama to try and swap.

2.7 engine is based. 3.5 is cringe.

To everyone saying “just buy the v6”,
there was/is no other access cabs available near me the only v6 access cab I came across was listed at $45k non 4x4, I know the 2.7 is an awesome engine but the power to weight ratio is very lacking eventually with bigger tires and weight added it’s uncertain how it’ll hold up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Let us know how it goes with the swap then. As mentioned earlier, if you're gonna do it, might as well go all out and put in something fun.

I got a chubby watching and hearing this Taco with an LS2 in it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsyR2BynqFM

I’m in the same boat as you, access cabs are rare as hens teeth here in S.Ca so I settled for the 2.7 and it ain’t so bad plus there is now a tune for it and I’ve heard good things about the LCE header, I plan on doing both this year some time.
Another plus is that if you ever need to you can actually work on it it’s not crammed in the engine bay like the v6. That thing will hold up better than the V6 with added weight, don’t assume just because it’s a v6 you won’t notice a power loss with more weight, I’m surprised some of these v6 trucks can even take a hill with all the shit some of these guys put on them.

Not trying to be a dick. Just being honest. If you have the time and money to burn on a swap, you have the time and money to burn on buying the right vehicle for your needs in the first place.

Be patient, sell that thing and get the truck you need/want.

It would probably be cheaper to LS swap it.

Definitely easier on the wallet and more realistic with the 3.5, but inspiring to know its possible and been done with an LS

Go to the KD Max thread, you can find out who does tunes in your area on the bottom of the first post and there is always a Pedal Commander, does nothing for hp but you’ll notice a difference in acceleration.

Bc I needed a work truck to carry tools in and I figured if I mentioned “Ls swap” I’d get the same responses
