Was wondering if i’m getting a 6 inch lift on my 2017 (tacoma sr5 6ft bed), would i absolutely need to get a new drive shaft or is the stock one okay for a little while until I choose to get one.

Fpr a 6" lift? He might run out of slip yoke length.

That said a diff spacer would be a lot easier and cheaper than a full shaft to make up the length.

But I don't know much about 6" lifts.

    Other than they're dog shit.

The worst 6" I did was an FJ cruiser, we had to install a driveshaft spacer made of aluminum. Not cool.

Tacoma 6" lifts just have 4" rear lifts, so an add a leaf and a 3" block, so its not THAT extreme, just a drive shaft drop.

I had vibration issues on a previous truck with a lift. I ended up putting a driveshaft specialist double cardan joint shaft on it and it was great. That truck had a tuned 6.4 and would smoke 37s even with the aftermarket shaft. Just an option if needed.
