    What the fuck did I just read? Total ass fuckery, if they, California, take away your choice of what to purchase, they are forcing their option on you.
    If the state forces you to buy an electric car, because they won’t sell you a ICE car, then tells you not to charge it because they can’t make and ship enough electricity to you, yeah, perfect sense.

    Its a collective choice to make a positive change in the environment for a healthier life on earth. Having enough cleaner produced electricity, is a technical challenge that can be overcome. It's not like as of a certain date all the ICE vehicles in California stop, and only EVs will work. Change is hard, but your nation built (or used to be) on innovation.

    So - given enough renewable power, why not just make synfuels? Doesn't need to throw away all the existing infrastructure either. A PHEV with synfuel is as much 'net zero' as a BEV.
