What if their own judgment is formed on the basis of ignorance, fear, superstition, xenophobia, and rage?

What’s your guy’s opinion on the e waist situation? So you think battery powered high tech cars are going to add to this problem? And it is a problem. Also the maintenance on these new evs is not something you can do it’s not even something you favorite repair shop will be able to do. The only option for service is going to be the dealership. How are you guys feeling about that?

Actually, this guys built a small business out of fixing EV's (Tesla's). I'll bet more independent shops will open.

How can you make an absolute proclamation that dealerships will be the only option for service? Do you mean in 2035? Are you omniscient?

I think it is reasonable to expect technology and innovation to keep up with technology and innovation, especially where there's a buck to be made.

Umm still has wheels that go round on suspensions held to the frame by things like ball joints, springs, shocks. Brakes are still very much h there. Electrics in spades, and these cars will still smash into things. Heating, cooling systems as well.

The heck with NASA, says George Jetson "All we need is a little more technology "...

Fits right in with the whole EV concept. " Please charge your vehicle later as the grid is full "...

It just sad that all the EV naysayers are afraid of change, change is the only constant. How many people are using their 30 year old cell phone?

I'm not so sure it is afraid of change as much as it is afraid of being inconvenienced.

I know you're old and stuff, but guessing you're not old enough to remember the gas shortage of 74 and 79?

@perterra, Guess again, yeah, I do remember the gas shortage of '74, and still very clearly too. In fact, in 1974 I was flying into JFK on military leave and saw a hundred (+/-) tankers anchored off shore off of NY harbor. Gas shortage my a$$...

    but I'm old... hahaha.

In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Seriously, and it is hard for me to be serious... Instead of spending big bucks on EV's why not spend the money developing ways to make coal burn cleaner at the stack? Think about how much coal is mined and used by China and India on an everyday basis. In reality we are just a drop in the bucket adding to the destruction of our environment but bearing most of the cost.

    Coal Production by Country
    # Country Yearly Coal Production (Tons)
    1 China 3,708,155,408,000
    2 India 761,662,038,400
    3 United States 728,364,498,000

Yes, we produce a lot of coal also, most of which gets exported to China...
