Any idea what is going on with allocations?

Three weeks ago there were 45 Tacoma DCSB AT 4WD TRD OR allocated to the dealers within 100 miles of me. That is down to 19. I don't think there were any new allocations in the previous two week period or maybe even the period before. Is this likely due to 2023 or do the allocations tend to come in big spurts?

 

New model year.

 

JIT is killing them in the current global supply chain environment.

 

^this right here soooo many companies that do this are paying for it big time including mine right now with of all things paper.

 

This is like the "Is It Totaled" threads. You will get lots of speculation but none of us actually know the true answer. You'd have to speak with someone at the dealership in charge of inventory or someone at Toyota to get the actual answer.

 

With all due respect, no one I have talked to at any dealerships seem to have any clue about how this works, or at least they won't tell you.

 

Well that I will give you. Most people at dealerships don't have a clue. I bet the person who does their floor planning does, but you'd probably never get to speak to them unfortunately.
