Think it’s called a ‘Catstrap’. I’ve never tried one but someone mentioned them in another ‘Stolen Cat’ thread.

Not something I worry about. Hasn’t been a problem where I live.

Yep. That's exactly the one I ordered too. I liked that it installed without any drilling, and that the company was founded by a veteran. Good job!

Tacomas don't seem to be a target in my area. Prius's for some reason are. Got a shield for my old prius before I gave it to my sister cause she lives in Portland and the folks over there will steal anything they can get their hands on. Might get one at some point for my tacoma but its not a priority at the moment.

I don't live in Kalifornia, Oregon, or Washington State, so this isn't an issue but I def see the stories. And I've also seen the violent stories with owners getting into shootouts, fights, etc with the thieves.

    This one was interesting:

He should've shot the tires out so they could possibly be caught quicker by authorities.

I was thinking when he was standing there with the driver's door open that he should have yanked it down or forward so it won't close. It would stand out driving down the road with the door open.

I have read that as well. Hybrids in general would be more valuable because the converters contain more of the expensive metals versus a straight gasser.

Like I said in another thread…thieves are probably doing you a favor if you live in a non-emission checked state by steal your cats. Just straight pipe to the muffler and get the gains associated.

Here in Asachusetts you can only shoot if there is a clear and demonstrable threat to your life. There are several ridiculous legal precedents here- case in point a woman was attacked on a 2nd floor landing, killed her attacker. She went to jail because she didn't bail out through the closed window (glass cuts and broken bones notwithstanding}. There comes a point where the law favors the criminals.

There’s been a total of 17 Toyotas hit last just last week in my triparish area. Not something I was wanting to deal with after coming in from offshore.
