Ok I went ahead and did 3" of thread showing on fox 2.5 ext and got the 3" lift I wanted. It should settle after a while. Rears are fox 2.0 resi with dakar med pack. Preload is crazy but it rides nice and tight smooth. I don't off road only thing close to that is tahoe trips in the winter snow.

Update on my setup. Just replaced some Elka 2.5s and went to the Fox PES extended travel, accutune bumpstop kit, and went to the icon stage 2 from the stage 1. Pretty happy with how everything turned out. Just running a bed cover right now and ride is perfect. Gained some lift as well in the front. Definitely recommended.

Well I’m more of a fox guy but they hadn’t released the PES series so I went with the Elka based on corrosion resistance. And the elkas was IFP 2.5s and I wanted to move over to the resi setup. Another thing is the Elka was only the 0-2” and I wanted more lift.

I'm planning to purchase the Performance Elite Series shocks. Any major benefits to getting it custom tuned for a pretty stock truck (285s & Icon RXT leafpack)? Or should I just stick with Fox factory tune?

    yes

    1. It's free through us
    2. You get a lot more benefits from #1
    3. It comes with stickers
    4. We would tune to accommodate that leaf pack
    5. We have Coilovers in stock

    All of them.
100% get them tuned. Accutune doesn't charge to revalve if you purchase from them. No Brainer

Anybody in here move up to 700lb springs and have their 14” 650lb springs collecting dust? I’ll gladly take them off your hands!

Curious if anyone with DSCs has ever come across a situation where the high speed adjuster turns more than 10 clicks. I was at setting 3/3 ("default") and opened them up down to 1/1 (softer) just to see how it feels. Only today the front driver DSC went more than 3 clicks. I thought maybe my ADHD brain didn't remember what I was previously set at, so then I opened them up more and it just keeps going (and is a small bit easier to turn by comparison to usual, but still not like super easy). I put high speed back the approximate number of clicks in the opposite direction for now. Low speed adjuster stops properly at 1 and 10. Feels OK driving, not uneven side to side or front to back. Nothing on that particular DSC assembly seems loose or coming apart. Weird eh?

Downside is I'm leaving soon for a 3+ week trip and no time to take off & send them in (if that is even needed). Thoughts on if this will hurt anything or what to look for? Or maybe I should just learn my ABCs and 123s again? Or both?

I'm unclear on what the 3/3 and 1/1 means. Per Fox, the High Speed has 12 clicks of adjustment and Low Speed has 10. HOWEVER, I am 100% not going to guarantee that is correct for every DSC adjuster out there. I just went in back to try it out for myself and could barely get 8 clicks out of the high speed. DO NOT put a wrench or anything on there to try and get more clicks, you are just asking for trouble.

If your adjuster knobs spin more than 10 and 12 easily, you do have a problem and should not loosen the knob any further. If that is the case, the c-clip holding things together on the inside likely came off or broke. You can see more about what I mean in this article: https://accutuneoffroad.com/fox-dsc-adjuster-assembly/ This article will also kind of show you whats happening when you tighten the high speed adjuster. You are basically adding preload to the shims on the inside making it harder for oil to flow through there and into the reservoir.

Thanks for the info. I see the adjustment range now in the Fox PES install document. And of course you are correct it's 12 clicks high, 10 clicks low (I thought it was 10 and 10 from memory). What I meant by "3/3" is matching the Fox document of setting both high & low 3 clicks in from full open as a "factory" setting. 1/1 would be what I'm assuming is 1 click in from full open but like you said reaching that final high speed click is darn tough and I don't force it. I just wanted to try what full open feels likes so I turned them what I thought was 3 clicks in and it went past. My monkey brain didn't count it fast enough at the time...heck even now I'm second-guessing my counting ability but I don't want to touch it again for now.

I did not put any wrenches on the adjusters because they should never need it (but I understand why you would explicitly tell people that so they don't break stuff). It's hard to get my short arms up in the front wheel well so I know I'm not putting much torque on them at such an odd angle. My delicate little office worker fingers are not that strong. I know how it should feel based on my other 3 shocks and yeah it's tough to get them all the way to the lowest/highest setting. They go maybe 8 or 9 clicks total range and I only know that from finding home during initial install. I've only changed it now like twice and usually just 1 click softer.

Oh well, things break, it happens. Re-set the bad one back where it was before I started making changes. Will send them in later in the year depending how things go. Cheers.

Has anyone snapped an adjustment ring? I just got my 2.5s installed a couple of weeks ago and and was attempting to adjust the height after they settled slightly. I had the front at full droop as some other members on here have done. Everything was going fine, got a full turn on the driver side and then the ring broke in half. Already have a new ring being over nighted. Anybody have any idea how difficult it will be to replace?
