That actually made me laugh, haven't had that happen in a while...
Sorry for your woes on eBay, but thanks for the heads up on the AutoArt spares store, I never knew that existed! They still don't have the mirror I need, but I will check from time to time.

I believe I used Mavis when I lived in Albany. If it’s who I remember, they used to be decent (that was a while ago). For tires, I like my Michelin AT2’s.

Wow, good job, if you didn't say anything in that post, I would have thought the left headlight was the repaired one! I think that because the chrome pops more than the black headlight.
Yes, I used to work for Mavis (originally NTB, but got bought by Mavis out of New York in mid 2020), and those are some of their cheapest tires, made in Vietnam or Thailand. They either didn't balance out well, wore out too quickly or started to get choppy on the edges. My recommendation, stick to name brand tires (I prefer BFGoodrich or General tires)!
If you were asking about them mounting tires, if you like your wheels, I would also steer clear. When I worked at my local store, we really tried to take care of the customer's property, but mistakes did happen (only 1 or 2 got damaged when I worked at my local store, and we were able to make the customer happy with another wheel, or a discount on the tires they were purchasing). When I went to other stores later on in my tenure, every other employee did not care at all, and I saw a lot of damaged wheels.

I've had good experiences with Town Fair Tire in Walpole. They fixed a screw up by the Woburn store that ruined a wheel on my Tundra. They helped get the company to provide a replacement wheel, mounted and balanced it. They could have refused and told me to go back to the store that effed it up, but didn't.

The store in Braintree was good on another issue with my wife's Highlander.

The issue I have with Townfair is, if you just roll in to buy tires, you’re going to get absolutely screwed by their prices. The only way to go to Townfair is to find a good price on the tires you want and have them price match. Otherwise, they seem to consistently be $39-50/tire more expensive.

I do a lot of price comparison and found that Town Fair was competitive, at least for what I want. They are also better on things like mounting, balancing, and even disposal. I found that while Sullivan Tire might be better on price, they charge more for all of that. I've also had TPMS sensors replaced by both companies and TF has better prices.

I bought my replacement set from the dealer in April when Toyota was running a buy three, get one free sale. Which they do every April.

I have found if you deviate from whatever Town Fair has in their computer they get frazzled and either won’t bend and order what you want, or will get really painful to deal with. I tried to explain to them with my wheel and tire package for my Accord that the size they spec’d out wasn’t right for the car and they all but made me sign a waiver saying it was on me if they didn’t fit. They also wouldn’t guarantee they could mount BFGs to brand new Cragar D-windows on my 93 without damage and wouldn’t be liable for any damage. I asked if I had bought the wheels from them if they’d guarantee no damage and they said yes. I asked if I brought the truck in and simply asked for new tires if they could guarantee they wouldn’t damage and they said absolutely.

When I got a buy three get one deal at Boch when I did my TRD wheels they used Sullivan Tire as their source as one of the BFGs wouldn’t balance. I was slightly disappointed they damaged the wheel in the process and then put that in the box for the 5th wheel thinking I wouldn’t notice.

I buy tires at a local indie tire shop and have had basically no issues with them ever. They match Tire Rack without drama.

I have been happy with my LTX M/S set so far. They are wearing better than anything I have had in the past. However, I have Nokian Hakkas on separate wheels for the winter. If I didn't have those I probably wouldn't go for a highway tire. I loved my General Grabber AT2s, so I think the ATx would be my pick for something aggressive.

I've been running the AT2 year round for a bit now. So far, I've been very happy with their overall performance. Theg are quiet and wear well in the summer months but still confident once the snow flies. I don't thinkthey'd do well in mud though, they do have a relatively closed tread pattern for an A/T tire.

Town Fair has, or had the last time I was there, an archaic computer system. It looked for all the world like it was a DOS based system, but was probably some other main frame type system.

The manager told me that they were in the process of upgrading, but that the upgrade was even harder to use.

I use New England Tire. Their prices seem similar to the big chain stores but they have just a few locations and better customer service as it’s always the same couple guys working the counter.

Anybody want crossbars for the oem roof rack? FREE. They were free when i got them them and I can't use them how I thought I was going too. I was also going to repaint my basket but found a slight hole in one of the rusty spots..... still feels solid so I might just weld it and paint it
