    Ha. I understand that reference.

Yup. I have 37 solar panels on the top of my house for two reasons. First, I want to be able to crank my aircon down as low as I want even in the heat of the Texas summer and not pay for electrons. Second, I want to drive a robot and not pay for fuel.

Thats because here in Texas, we know best. Well that and we cant seem to get enough electricity generated to actually heat and cool our houses in very hot and very cold weather so an electric car would just sit around most of the time.

If there are power issues do they affect gas pumps also?

It's geographic, areas around hospitals or affluent neighborhoods keep the power on most of the time, the rest of us are screwed. Hard to drive 5 miles and recharge, but you can fill up with fuel. As someone else said, solar would sure help, because God knows our politicians here in the great state of Texas could not give a shit if you arent donating to them

Well it seems obvious, but try to follow along. ICE cars/small trucks are responsible for a very small amount of greenhouse gases, they’re not where the attention should be focused. Further, forcing people into EVs will only amplify that fact since manufacturing a new EV produces huge amounts of greenhouse gases. To conclude that personal ICE vehicles are a major contributing factor to “climate change” is not even close to correct, as they have a minute effect.

Sure, but it takes a tiny amount to run a gas pump, and a huge amount to charge a car, plus you can keep and store fuel fairly easily if there’s an “energy crisis” on the horizon, Further, once the car is full the tank lasts longer than a charge, so it’s a foolish argument.

Right, I can see that by all the counterpoints you provided with your post, well said sir.
Strange that you challenged me to back up my claim, which I did, only for you to post nothing. Sadly I almost expected it.

well per the EPA , transportation accounts for 27% of US greenhouse gasses , of which 57% of transportation consists of light cars and trucks

EV's contribute less GHG per mile over their lifetime than ICE cars even if the power is generated using fossil fuels

I don’t see any proof to back up that last claim, where are those numbers from? Further, even if that claim held any merit, it would all depend on how they’re charged, how and where they were built, and what they are being compared to.
