I’m going from a stock rack to a prinsu so I’m not going to have the drip molding and I really don’t wanna pay $100+ for a new one...has anyone ever tried the universal 3m ones with a prinsu?

Found this thread searching for the same thing- did you try it out or end up buying OEM molding?

There really no functional need for the molding once you install a prinsu style rack. You would have to cut pieces of the moulding out anyway for the mounting feet, and you won't be able to tell if the moulding is there once the rack's installed. Unless your OCD just requires you to have it(mine probably would lol), I wouldn't even bother.

That was the plan but I have an oem roof rack I was hoping to trade for the roof molding.

I have a few sets of roof moldings from mine and a few other Tacoma's within the family where we did oEM racks. I have them listed locally for $100 a set. I can ship them on your dime if your interested.

Do you still have these? I may be interested in a set. I am looking to get rid of my stock roof rack. It is true that you won't see the channel with a Prinsu, except for the back of the truck where the trim dips down about 3 inches.

I can vouch for @mds08. I received a set of moldings from him and they were exactly as advertised! Great to work with.
