I am pretty sure they keep them posted so they can trick people into coming in to the dealership.

 

Interesting.. my dealership lists as in transit and in stock.. mine has been on the in transit side all this time with a note that says this vehicle has a pending sale and can't be sold.

I know this has potential hard impacts on struggling people and I’m just an old fart that wants his new truck … that said, this hit my news feed yesterday.

“U.S. freight railroads will reportedly reduce some service after Monday with a new rail union contract still up for negotiation. The reduced service would come ahead of a potential rail strike date of September 17 if talks fail to progress.”

“… freight customers may also experience delayed or suspended service over the next week”

First I heard of a slow down ahead of the potential strike.

For what it is worth SET shows an October 7 due date. That truck has a perm VIN so it is built.

Your due date is exactly the same as mine. I don't know how accurate the SET due dates are, but they are dynamic. They are adjusted from time to time so I do think they may be a good faith attempt to give you a realistic due date. But I could be wrong.

It is a normal practice so that they have back-up buyers incase you back out while also bringing in new customers to look at other inventory. My truck has been on my dealer's website for over two months since it was built but it still has my deposit & name on it.

Makes sense. I could hit my head tonight and wake up tomorrow morning thinking a Hyundai Santa Cruz is a great idea. Dealership should have a list of potential backups if their buyer wigs out.

Is this some kind of upgraded audio and if so why no cost?

Regarding the moving due date. 9/29/22 may have been accurate when he told you. Just a few days ago mine went from 10/3/22 to 10/7/22.

 

So I finally got some door lock notifications on Thursday, but no update from the dealer. Drove through the dealership today and they had a truck full of new Toyotas (no tacos) waiting to get unloaded. So thinking it maybe got unloaded from the train causing the door unlock notifications, but waiting for a truck ride from the railyard. Hopefully this week?

So I put a deposit down in Nov2021 , still NO allocation to this date, yet they are already shipping 2023s?

Yes I have deposits at multiple dealers.
