Generally, I'd say peel off the wrap (just the parts you need redone), get a new piece and reapply. If the carbon itself is gouged, worth making sure it's structurally sound first.

I think that's the same stuff I'm using also. I DIY'd it and only applied strips on the downtube and a couple other areas.

 

Thoughts on this 7Mesh hoody/jacket? I've been looking for something with a good fit and is semi-windproof yet breathable. Love the design but it's a bit steep $

Gets a hell yeah from me. I bought one last season. I wear it all spring and fall and even winter. It replaced a similar hoodie that I owned for a decade and wore out. If you shop around for something comparable this is the price you'll pay.

I always wear it riding, dog walking, yard chores, and even in the winter while XC skiing. Super versatile as a top layer or even a mid.

If I get a decade out of it like my last hoodie the price isn't actually that bad.

 

I”m using this same stuff as well. I haven’t done the entire bike, just the down tube and bottom bracket and it’s held up well to this point. I will do a few more areas that I noticed are getting some dings from flinging rocks, just need to get it done.

 

You guys know you can get 20% off Ride NF and I've been debating getting some expensive shorts.. I almost used the term "overpriced", but I do feel it's justifiable.

My rakattach isn't wide enough for the new van for swing-out access. I was looking in to new swing outs but saw that Alta Racks does an offset 4 bike rack that allows van door access, so I went with this: https://www.altaracks.com/product/alta-superior-equattro/.

This is my first non-1up in a long time. It's definitely very stout and has less play than the 1up. It's also easier to load IMO. However, I feel like the bike moves around a lot on the rack and it kinda rubs the tire in a way that I don't love...

 

Just what I wanted to hear. I have no problem dishing out the benjamins so long as it's actually worth it! Any recommendations on base layers for Fall, Winter, Spring? Might pickup a couple of their Merino short sleeves which are on sale.

 

So, I've thought about getting a cheap rack for hauling a lot of bikes.. For very minimal use I wouldn't mind going with the chuckbucket.

I have a few merino wool baselayers but they've all either MEC brand (Canadian equivalent of REI) or from Costco. No need to spend any more than that on a merino baselayer in my opinion.

If the 7Mesh is a good deal I would maybe go for it.

I was gifted a Rapha wool baselayer that is fantastic. Both fit and longevity. They can be had on sale but I certainly wouldn't pay retail for it either.

Most of my BC and Alberta buds have a fair bit of 7Mesh gear and are super happy with all of it.

 

I like the chuck bucket for skis, but no way I'd put my bike on that thing...

To be clear, my complaints about the Alta rack are nit-picky since it's an expensive rack. It's definitely on par with the 1up, just some things about the vertical design I hadn't thought about.

 

Care to elaborate, shipped it's $630.

Sway is going to be the biggest complaint I guess.

 

The amount of rack lean and wobble in this picture summarizes my concerns.

that rack is basically a direct knock off of the lolo rack. I had one and it was great. No side to side wobble as shown in the picture of that one.
That could also be side to side play in the hitch though if they don't have any kind of tensioning mechanism to eliminate wobble.

Did you ever have issues with rubbing handlebars or stems? How was loading bikes? I looked at the Lolo rack as they have a way to mount the rack directly to a van ladder so it swings open with the rear door. I didn't love that it holds the bike by the handlebars/stem and it seemed like it'd be awkward to load bikes...
