I could care less that Bubba won. I mean good for him. I have never doubted his talent however am not a fan of his lack of character. Now the person I am happy for is Bootie Barker! Good for him! Kurt won this race is the spring so 23XI has a good package there. Plus non playoff drivers winning adds to the drama.

I think Reddick will get bought out. RCR only has the two charters and I do not see them running a car without a charter. Perhaps they rent one from Rick Ware or someone I suppose but I see them buying out Reddick's contract and moving him along for 23XI to figure out.

fully agree on that. Kurt Busch is done. Denny is just stringing folks along saying he intends to drive next year. Tyler comes in and takes over the 45 in 2023.

100% agree! If anything 23XI pays Kurt as a development guy and lets him run a 3rd car for select races.

Kurt was in the booth a lot at the beginning of the year also with Fox so I could see him going over to do that also. Perhaps not a long term solution for Fox but at least to fill the gap until Harvick or someone retires and comes in to do that fulltime. Kevin is really good broadcasting so I think he will end up in the Fox booth at some point.

I would be surprised if Kyle uses any # other than the 51. That is the # he adopted and ironically is the # on the side of the Rick Ware machine. Going to RCR, nickname Rowdy, I bet RC makes a deal for the 51 and Kyle really tries to recapture the persona that RCR had in the 90's with Dale. And I think that would be cool. Hell, paint the MF car black!

I don't think Rick Ware gives up the 51. He has history with it in several different forms of motorsports from my understanding. Maybe he takes the 54? Or a whole new one. Let's go 69 car!

Keep in mind, with the increase in TV money next year the Charter values are going to sky rocket.. There could be a team that gives up a charter for that extra value.

Hoss is up there on stage wearing BOTH his championship rings.
    https://www.nascar.com/presspass

Edits below as the press conference unfolds:

KB: "The announcement of the announcement that's already been made."

(It's nice to see Kyle smile & lighten up when he speaks to his wife & kids.)

Official: Kyle will drive the #8 for RCR in 2023.

(They just swapped out the rear curtain. Looks like there is a car behind there.)

EDIT: It's just a Jeff Godon car on display.

(Childress just came on stage and handed Kyle the Rolex he removed when he whooped up on him.)

(RCR just handed Brexton an option contract to drive for RCR in the future.)

Sponsors TBA. "The model has changed. Now we have to work out who gets what races. We have to work through some of that."

RC said they will have three charters and Tyler Reddick will drive another car. He's looking to build the #8 team up and that's more than a 1-year deal.

RC is "not ready to talk about where the third charter is coming from right now."

RC: "Kyle has the modern-day style of Dale Earnhardt racing."

Truck team: KBM will operate as a Chevy truck team in 2023 with 2,3, or possibly 4 trucks.

(Austin Dillon was in the crowd for the announcement. He looked a little anxious as he was getting up to leave)

I think RCR is the right place for Kyle. That team embodies the type of racing that befits Kyle's personae more than clean-cut Gibbs, a Toyota Camry, and a Candy sponsor could do. I think we'll see Kyle truly step into his own now that he has something fully on his terms with his veteran experience. I just hope he gets some cool sponsors and not some vague B2B brands.

I'm guessing the 3rd charter will be a lease but RC isn't ready to talk about that yet
