I like the idea of completely silencing my truck. I do a bit of deer hunting and opening the door to quickly check any trails etc. and "Bong bong bong" will alert any animal for a long ways.

One thing I've done so far was add a seat belt extender. Shuts off the belt alarm and actually makes it easier to put on the belt when wearing a coat or if you're a bit portly. Belt extenders are cheap too.

It's been over 2 weeks of daily use and I haven't had any battery issues. I think it times out even if you stay in the truck, which is what the software must think you are doing. Definitely good call though. Thanks for the suggestion.

That is good news! Does the keyless lock work as well when exiting the truck?

All this is doing is removing the speaker. The Truck still thinks its beeping. Cool mod!

I discovered a seat belt chime hack by accident yesterday. I was coming home from the gym and cranking Shotgun Messiah on the stereo at about 55 volume. I didn’t hear the chime at all. I didn’t even know my seat belt wasn’t on until the song was over.

Obd and Carista app and you can change many factory only settings. It did cost me $40 but it was worth it to silence the drivers side seatbelt chime.

I do, but holding onto the file for now. Deciding if I want to print and sell them. It was a bit of work iterating it. I printed and sold my first one to someone here who messaged me asking if I could make him one. And that felt kinda cool to have the printer do some work paying for itself and supplies.

If you are interested in one, message me. I plan to post up in the correct forum about selling stuff soon. Thanks for the idea. I thought of and designed it because of this thread.

I'm that guy. Gabe was great to work with and delivered a quality part that just works. I didn't have an interest in messing with techstream on my '22 and went this route.

If you're thinking about getting a cover I recommend you start a conversation with Gabe.

Thanks for the kind words and glad you like it, Alan. I'm happy to print more. Let me know if anyone else wants one via PM. But I'm being cautious about rules for marketing outside of the buy/sell forum.

Alan mentioned people would want matching colors, which I hadn't thought about. Does anyone have thoughts about that? I'd have to really increase sales volumes to justify buying all the Toyota OEM paint colors. The matte grey looks decent on my MGM paint but on Alan's white I can see wanting closer to OEM white.

Nice work op. Make life easy and keep cost down.
You can have any color you want as long as it’s black.

This has nothing to do with that. We live in a cul de sac and own four vehicles. Being able to move vehicles around without useless bonging is quite nice. I (we) religiously wear seatbelts.

As noted several times, the seatbelt light on the instrument cluster is unaffected, only the useless chime.

Further, when wheeling and needing to peek out the window to check lines and such, the chime not being there is a big improvement.
